The Stephen Colbert one was really good. He was planning on quitting the Colbert Report even if he didn't get the Letterman gig!

Obama was on the show last night! Great 40 minute interview.

Back on page 3 the day after his final ever show, poor form GR.

Was a decent enough last episode, was maybe expecting something a bit more special but it did the job.

It was very low key but I loved that the entire episode was devoted to the past and present corrospondanants and staff. A really nice sentiment.

Gonna miss Jon so much :(

Surprised to see Wyatt Cenac there though it was suitably awkward. I don't think it was quite as good a final episode as Colbert's but I did tear up slightly. It's going to be strange and sad not having Jon Stewart on television regularly.

I'm sure we'll see him pop up for interviews or guest appearances. I'm mostly looking forward to any future films he might make, though.

My morning routine for the past 10 years or so has been to watch the previous night's Daily Show while eating breakfast. It's gonna be weird as strawberry float to not do that any more. Well, at least until the end of September when Trevor Noah takes over, but it won't be the same.

Noah's Daily Show will be a different beast, as Stewart's was different from his predecessor's show. I hope that it will prove as good, but I fear not.

Another month to wait. Goddamn. Are they gonna take 4 weeks off for Christmas again this year? :dread: This has been the worst year for breaks and pauses in the schedule that I can remember.

For some reason I'm rather uneasy about Noah doing it. I just have a feeling that if he's not great right away it could be a disaster.

Noah was really gooseberry fool on his first show

Which isn't that surprising given how crap he's been whenever he pops up on UK tv

Thought he was good personally. Charming and his delivery was good. What was disappointing was how familiar the structure was, but Noah showed signs that he could be a really good host that could offer something different. That said the interview was poor however, and that'll be difficult to manage at first because he won't have the rapport Jon had, and may be a little starstruck on occasion. I just hope the show eventually changes. It's just a "shame" that John Oliver and HBO beat them to making a more modern Daily Show.

I also thought it was a really strong start. I like how he acknowledged how weird it all was.

Sounds like Irene already had his mind made up before he ever watched it.

Nah my mind was made up when nothing was funny, a whole segment (mars) ended in the laziest attempt at a joke ever and his strawberry floating handpicked interview for the first episode was boring as hell

The whole episode was justified by that Whitney Houston gag. There was something else that drew a few gasps too.

I don't know if it's a one off, but Comedy Central UK are showing this tonight (proper HD channel not shitty Xtra!).
