Really not fond of the art style. Looks more Borderlands than The Darkness, and although it looked awesome for that game, it really doesn't feel right in The Darkness universe. Ruins the mood and tone of the first game.

I'm interested to see what its going to look like in motion.
Got the original game on rental - determined to finish it this time.

I will, honest! I got to that bit in the misty field, but dem suckas wouldn't stay down.
It was only months later when someone (you, I think) told me the blindingly obvious solution.

You realise it's based on a series of comics, right? This new game is aiming for something closer to those than trying to mimic the original game.

Yeah I do, but I still feel the same. I don't think those screens even capture the mood of the comics.

Fair enough.

I also didn't mean to sound like a condescending sod, either. Sorry.

I'm not sure the free roaming in the game was too great, there was nothing to do apart from a few simple non combat side missions. As long as the keep the environments a bit open ended it should be okay though.

I never did finish the first game, in the end. Ah, such boundless enthusiasm mere weeks ago :(

:o

That looks immense, loved the animation on the Darklings and how fluid it all looked.

Do want.

Thank strawberry float for that. Already too many games this year and it looks like this will tide me over nicely before Mass Effect 3's release in March.

I didn't realise the game was going to be that violent :o I can certainly see this making the headlines closer to it's release. I recently got back into the first Darkness game and despite the huge amount of motion sickness it gives me, i'm starting to love it again. Jackie Estacado is pure awesome

...are they really trying to sell the game on just the gore and violence?

I'm sold, but I've got a feeling this game won't deliver. The framerate on the ps3 version in the first one was awful, felt like the whole game was dripping treacle.

Yes, that's what devastatingly emotional storytelling of the first game really needed

Execution points.

It's got BioShock 2 written all over it. And that's the best case scenario.

Anyone who thinks The Darkness was half the game Bioshock was wants their head examining.

What I've seen of this looks immense, whats important about this franchise is how it plays, not its gooseberry fool story.
