September 11th 2001. 13 years to the day a quite unimaginable course of events changed the world and how we now live, forever.

I still sit down and watch documentories/ youtube footage etc to remind me how horrific that day was. And I still remember the exact moment and what I was doing at the time so vividly.

So, do you remember what you were doing that day? Do you actually still care? Or are you one of those bat-shit mentalists that think it's 'an inside job'?

Just checked the bottom of my diary and it says "Moby, American singwriter and singer, born 1965"

So happy birthday Moby. I like the song 'Go'

Went to new york last year and saw the 9/11 memorial. Was a sad experience knowing what happened there over a decade ago.

I still remember how I found out about this. I was on a half day's leave and at Lakeside shopping centre with the wife. As I walked through M&S there was an unusually large crowd standing round the TVs. So I had a look and just saw a load of rubble and mentions of a plane hitting it.

As the true story unfolded over the next few days I'll never forget the hilarious story one of my Muslim colleagues told me. "Apparently the Jews are behind this". When I enquired what this was based on I was told "4,000 didn't turn up for work in the area that day so very suspicious". When I asked where she heard this I was told it is being reported in the news. When I asked for the source she sent me a link to some Islamic web site.

I had the week of from work and was playing Skies of Arcadia (DC ver) with Radio 1 in the background. I was stunned when they said about the 1st plane hitting and I hoped it was just a terrible accident, obviously seconds later I was proved wrong.

I had Radio 1 on as well. I remember it going silent, no music was played for the rest of the day. There was just constant news flashes/ updates.

I was working at the paper at the time. It was bizarre. Our group editorial director insisted we tried to find an angle on the story appropriate to our town. :fp: strawberry floating local news.

Anyway, I went home that night and watched the news on silent with The Flaming Lips' The Soft Bulletin playing. In parts, the lyrics matched perfectly. It was quite emotional.

I can't hear "Waitin' for a Superman" now without thinking of 9/11.

Tell everybody
Waitin' for Superman
That they should try to hold on
Best they can
He hasn't dropped them
Forgot them
Or anything
It's just too heavy for Superman to lift

I was at school when it actually happened, though weirdly no news filtered though to the classes, from what I remember.

I found out when I got home, as my parents were obviously watching it on the news. There's always something exciting about being involved in such drastic breaking news stories. It's gripping, but horrendous drama. There was a sense even that day, that something massive had happened and things wouldn't quite be the same. A feeling that magnified over the days to come, when our newspapers were filled with strange new words and phrases - the terminology of terror that are now so familiar to us.

That night, my Dad and I went to watched Boro play Northampton in the League Cup. We won 3-1.

There's always something morbidly exciting about being involved in such drastic breaking news stories - and 9/11 was bang in the middle of our waking day, so it unfolded as we watched. There was also a sense that more might happened, with reports of other planes going down too. It was gripping, but horrendous drama, and I half-expected somewhere like the White House to get hit. It sounds sadistic, but I bet many were watching simply to see what happened next, as there was a sense it wasn't over. Indeed, perhaps it still isn't.

I was watching neighbours and I think they cut it early to switch to the news. I then saw the second plane hit live. It was shocking, jaw dropping stuff. A terrible moment.

Happy Kklein day everybody :D

I missed the whole thing as I was in work. :x

My bro watched it all on TV, although morbid I would have loved to watch it unfold, especially when second plane hit as your head would explode (no pun intended)

You work with DBlock? I'm sure he's peddled this Jew line before. (Or does he blame the CIA?)

I was at school, I was in an Economics lesson when one teacher came in and told our teacher. They wheeled in the TV and we watched the news live. I remeber the terror as the plane hit the Pentagon and you genuinely felt like nothing was safe any more.

I think I got pulled out of class early at the end of whatever lesson we had because our tutor thought it was best we knew exactly what had happened before all the rumours started.

The london bombings were more surreal because I was off school that day (whilst everyone else in my family was in school/work) and was watching BBC news the moment the story broke, queue a mad panic of ringing up my mum who in turn was trying to ring up our relatives in London to see if they were okay.
