Last day today. Already said my goodbyes to a few people who aren't in today.

Boss has said I can go home early too so I'll be getting my last things done asap as possible to get back :datass:

I can't wait for Ad to hear a massive "HURRAY!" when the door shuts behind him, with disco music, corks popping and a bunch of strippers heading into your office as he walks out.

:(

Everyone breathes a collective sigh of relief, they all put baseball and flat caps on and tuck in to a massive bag of crisps.

Then we shall have peace.

Made redundant from the last main job. Got a temp contract, got this full.time role and then got lured away to the new place.

So I'm in the interview process for a new job and I've already had phone and face to face interviews with the team manager. Now, they want me to have an "HR Interview" (either over the phone or in person). Anyone had one of these before? I thought it might just be a formalities thing, but they've said it'll take around 45 minutes. Googling just brings up either interview tips for HR professionals, or "screening" type interviews which I don't think it will be having already interviewed with the manager.

I suspect it will be a formalities thing. Maybe they are just going to talk to you about the company, benefits and tell you not to sexually abuse any of the female staff.

Yes?

I guess Ad never had one of those for any of his many jobs.

I had one of these for the new place. I was told afterwards that the HR person wanted to sound me out more than anything. Expect a very thorough grilling of your CV.

Sounds like an internal version of employment agency CV screening. Don't strawberry float up your dates and don't exaggerate your responsibilities or lie about employment gaps - they may already have references.

It's not something I've ever encountered before, but this sounds pretty much like what I imagined. I just found it odd that they're doing it at the end of the process.

I am so lucky that to get my job I only had to do one interview. That was stressful enough.

I had 2 interviews for my current job.

The first was an hour or so with the Head of dept. The 2nd took 3.5 hrs and included a detailed questioning based upon my online psychometric test results, plus a 45 min exercise to write a proposal for a new development opportunity before a detailed interview on my skills, previous roles and experience and situational responses.

I was drained afterwards. Still got the job though 8-)

I had two interviews for the job I started a few weeks ago, after I'd passed the aptitude test which seems to be the norm these days. First was on a Friday morning with the head of department/line manager and a HR person, which took about an hour and a half (only about 45 of which was actual interview questions, rest was a conversation about the industry and things like that). They asked that evening if I could do a second interview on the Monday morning with someone who used to do the job and moved up in the company and the same HR rep, though this was a bit less formal and more introspective than the first. It was weird, honestly, but I'd never had a second interview before. I guess it was to check out my attitude and things like that. It was quite a quick turnaround though so can't complain too much.

Staring the new job today. Usually I'd be on the road by now - the Google traffic alert says it would take me 58 minutes this morning due to an accident - I'm currently sat in my lazy clothing drinking tea :toot: Don't have to set off for 45 mins yet and it's a 6 minute drive :datass:

Good first day. Working next to an old colleage so we are straight in tune with how each other works. Got a nice laptop, bag and two great monitors.

Best of all is leaving at 5.23 and pulling up on the drive at 5.29
