Staydead :fp:

I feel like I nailed that really, nothing more I could have added. Second interview will be next week if I get one.

Place is really nice too.

This popped in to my head at one point and I nearly started laughing:

Crisp puns are the only thing keeping from going insane today. There's about 4 of us on support when there's usually about 12.

It's ridiculous.

I got the nik nak of everything by the end of the day. Unfortunately we had a lot of people off anyway and they suddenly decided to call a project meeting which took over half the staff off the desk.

It's going to be even worse tomorrow, going to be jumping through hula hoops to try and get anything done. If I play my chipsticks right though, I might be able to handle it.

Got a second interview. It's between my and one other person but I've been told their preference is me by a long shot, just need to seal it with a design presentation at the next one.

So what, my three years of accountancy studies and 8 years of work experience means nothing to the company? In less than 2 months I'll have all the qualifications needed for a management accounting role and they give it to someone with nothing but 2 years work experience? I don't know if I'm over reacting but I'm absolutely fuming. At the moment I'm thinking that as soon as my studies are done, I should hand my notice in to leave by the end of the year. Clearly I'm not going to get anywhere staying here. It's just a massive kick in the teeth.

I've been offered a pay rise of an extra £1500 a year with potentially another one later in the year. I hate to feel suspicious of it but it makes me wonder if they caught wind of how I was feeling and want to keep me sweet. Either that or they've actually realised from these damn reports how hard I really work for them. Either way, it's a win win for me. I'm still keeping my options open though and will re-evaluate the situation once my exams are done and dusted in September.

Well this week is going to be fun, the two people I chat to the most are off on holiday and I'm at the clients where only the 3 of us know what's going on there. I hope there's no big issues, becuase I'm on my own this week.

I'm moving to another team tomorrow. Would be alright with it, but my new team members got weird with me on Friday over the seat I chose to sit in.

I don't know if I can deal with the drama. What are they going to be like when there's an issue actually worth being annoyed about?

I just don't get it.

The best way to deal with office drama is to roll your eyes and ignore it. I've got no time for that nonsense.

Starting a new job today. Bit nervous about it but it's a programming job which is the job I've always wanted. Also still have to write up evidence for my teaching training in the evenings so going to be busy for a while.

You know how most people on here pretend to be super PC etc?
Are your workplaces like that? Or are they just normal, where you get sexist/racist jokes and the like?

On an unrelated note, it's quite concerning when you realize the some of the managers are incompetent.
I expect that is normal in most large companies? You just get the bullshitters and good talkers at the top?

Spent the last three years working at schools which were obviously pretty pc before that was at the NHS which again was pretty pc. We had a super Christian women who once went off on one about witches but that was about it.

What do you mean when you say that most people on here pretend to be "super PC"? Can you offer any examples?

I work for a large company as a manager and I am largely incompetent. You're probably right.

My last team was not PC at all. I mean we had to be conscious of other teams sitting around us, some of the jokes flying around were pretty terrible (and funny).

Always makes work better.
