4 and a half weeks until I leave and still not had a chat with the boss about what I do and sorted a hand overplan (I've asked etc. Boss decided to clean kitchen, then sort stock room, then hoover office)
Don't want to leave and screw over customers but I'm sort of like if you can't sort your gooseberry fool to work out gaps in docs and handover etc then strawberry float ya

Unfortunately a lot of places like to throw a mini hissy fit and bury their heads in the sand about these things. The boss of my last place didnt speak to me after I handed my notice in and I never saw him again in the final 2 weeks.

Yeah seems about right for how it is panning out
Thing is he didn't do this with he last guy to leave and it's bloody annoying as the service is going to plunmit to those I support and one of them is made up of people I have worked with and the boss is a close friend so it's going to suck to see their stuff go to gooseberry fool because the ones at work couldn't be arsed to hand over properly

Found out today I'm getting a £250 bonus in my next wage as a thank you for work I did on a project. Feels good.
Also secured a temporary promotion last month as well so I'm working my arse off in the hope it gets made permanent. Things are going well for a change.

I was once thanked sarcastically for leaving a manager "in the lurch" after I completed the term of a temporary assignment, what the strawberry float did you expect (expecially after dumping a pile of gooseberry fool literally no-one wanted to do on the "team" of temps).

That's exactly how I feel at mine. I have one week to go and they still haven't got anyone to replace me. Seems pretty bad considering the industry they're in.

I knew they wouldn't get a replacement they never do, but as the stuff I do only I do and it is for NHS trusts that pay for the service so you would think they wouldn't want to risk strawberry floating it up but apparently they don't think like sensible people.

We got a massive shredder transported to one of our sites as there were issues with confidential waste management there. It now sits in the clinic room, within arm's reach of the computer chair, and I'm STILL finding confidential waste stuffed down the side of the computer table. It's so strawberry floating lazy

It’s so unfair, I am all about the competition at work. My day is spent with GRcade and BBC article comments competing for my time.

I had my interview today, on the interview I'm unsure if I nailed it or strawberry floated it up, such a helpless feeling another thing is they told me today the job would require travel as in working in projects in London/Glasgow etc which I've never done before so I'm unsure on that too.

If people ever ask about travelling always say you're up for it even if you're not. It's just a box they want to tick and you saying you're unsure puts a negative in there.
Travel for work is great , day out of the office meeting people and doing something different.

Plus living on expenses for a week or two is great since you're not having to spend your own money on food/petrol.

I did tell them that I would be comfortable with travelling it was just after the interview I thought to myself I wasn't sure.

It depends on the level of travel, in my experience. A day or two here and there is great, for reasons stated above, but when you're in hotels Monday to Friday and only home on the weekend for weeks on end, it does start to grate. Having done that before, I definitely wouldn't go back to it.

I try to avoid travel in my job with every inch of my being, there's no depths I won't plumb to get out of it.
