Why didn't you point the contradiction out in the contract before signing? Most employment contracts are poorly written and there is usually something wrong with them. I suggest anyone moving job has a good read through and asks for any necessary changes before signing.

This is true. The first recruitment agency I interviewed at was very confused when I asked to take my time to read their contract, but was happy to let me get on with it. I sat there for about 45 minutes because I have slow reading comprehension speed (only very fast technical reading speed). It was for a 3 week assignment.

Technically that's a learning difficulty, there's so much gooseberry fool in the working world that's a barrier if you actually want to do anything properly. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of stuff people claim to have read, is never actually understood.

Bullshit behaviour to make you feel guilty or dun wrongun because of this idea that such a thing as employee loyalty exists when you get strawberry floated over all the time. No, I don't count those as days off since I have them off anyway.

I've got the whole day at the new place tomorrow which will technically be my first day, informally really but it's to spend the day with the outgoing designer as that's his last day. Been invited to his leaving lunch to meet the rest of the team and told I'll be given that day in lieu when I start in a few weeks

Then back to the normal place Friday for another 2 weeks. I told my colleagues today and they weren't surprised but seemed genuinely gutted I'm going. They should at least be able to start eating crisps again.
