1 okay episode, which appeared to be good when you hold it up against the other 11 episodes this year that were total gooseberry fool and made literally no sense

What? There were about 2 episodes this series that were OK, the rest were poor. Maybe my kids are getting too old for Dr Who, but unless the special picks up, I can't see them continuing with it.

Yes?

The best scene in the finale was Capaldi's rage at the missing Gallifrey, everything else was fairly incoherent and unexplained.

No way in hell. The majority of this series has been good. There's only been a few duff episodes, unlike Ecclestones series which was awful.

Agreed.
It's a miracle the new series managed to survive Ecclestone's tenure. Though that was more down to incredibly poor writing than Ecclestone himself.

As for the finale for this series. It was.....ok. I didn't dislike it, but I wasn't blown away by it either. It just didn't feel as big or epic as all the build up in the previous episode seemed to be leading to.

The Unquiet Dead, Dalek and Fathers Day would all like to say hello as well. Specially Fathers Day.

Oh and just a warning but due to fondling some unrefined Spectrox the Doctor Who thread will be going through a bit of a change later on today........

There were some great episodes in Ecclestone's run, what are people talking about?! :dread:

There were some right duffers too but there are in every series and with it being the first run in its new format etc., I think it deserves a bit more slack than later series.

After the Robin Hood and tree episodes this series, the finale was ok.

I liked Missy and hope we see more of her.

Danny Pink can strawberry float off and I hope we never even hear the name again.

Christmas is either going to be amazing or utter gooseberry fool. Nick Frost though.

I love after all the mystery surrounding his army past he was basically Al Powell from Die Hard...

What good is an army of the living dead if they just go around protecting the people they left behind?

Nick Frost has already been in this series of Who, hasn't he? Good job on getting another go!

I don't understand the hate. Other than the final bracelet bit I thought that was pretty good. The 'power of love' stuff was nowhere near as bad as it was last time we met the Master (that was fuckmendously awful), and as for it being incoherent I thought it was one of the better written finales. Far less going on and a tighter focus.

Plus, Missy was incredible.

Just watched it. Very hit and miss. Loved the bits with Miss and the scene with the Doctor and Clara in the graveyard. Didn't like Danny's speech and that back from the dead bracelet gooseberry fool can strawberry float off. Also what was the point of Sanjeev Bhaskar?
