There were some funny bits of the episode and I liked the Doctors thing about humanity forgetting how things felt, but outside of that it was mediocre.

Moving past the epsides to the trailer

Clara Oswold never existed? £2 says she's the Master regenerated as a woman...and a prior version of Missy

Really bad episode tonight, next week looks a lot more interesting going by that preview.

I can only imagine the mom's conversation after the episode.
-You found your daughter! Where was she?
- She was crouching in the evaporating bushes in front of the house, near the car.
 :slol:

Anyway, about the episode: a great concept, badly executed. Very badly.

Doctor: A massive solar flare is going to destroy all life on Earth. I can save you and those kids that are with you!

Clara: Nah, they might miss their parents, let 'em die.

Standard Doctor Who, then?

Why can't they, you know, get good writers and directors and stuff?

You are right, the quality of the seasons (collectively) is worse and worse with each series for me since Moffat has taken over. There are fewer quality episodes (like Blink or Human Nature among many others) and more mediocre and bad ones. The best season was series 2 for me (it also had the worst Who episode ever interestingly), the best episodes are Tooth and Claw, The Girl in the Fireplace, The Impossible Planet two-parter for S2, the Human Nature-two parter and Blink for S3, Silence in the Library two-parter and Midnight for S4, Amy's Choice for S5, The Rebel Flesh two-parter and The Girl Who Waited for S6 (I should rewatch The Doctor's Wife, I have vague memories about that episode), Asylum of the Daleks for S7 and Flatline for S8.
Which episodes do you consider the best ones? Which season do you consider the best one? I am actually curious about what people would say to that :P

Mr Pink is really starting to irritate me. He's such a little self obsessed pussy.

Yep. If you're jealous of your girlfriend's friendship with Peter Capaldi you're laughably insecure.

Remind me, what purpose did the Dr serve in this week's epsiode? I think if we get another series like this one, Dr Who will be heading for retirement again.

Yes?

That's not his problem, his problem is that she's risking her life for him when in his eyes he doesn't care about her all that much. He was a soldier, he's seen people die and he doesn't want to lose Clara obviously.

wat, so far Capaldi has been one of the best doctors since Who came back.

Tennant/Capaldi > Smith >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ecclestone.

But he's got PTSD and he was a soldier and blah blah blah.

Capaldi has been excellent. It's the scripts that have been awful.

Yes. If the story isn't up to much, people will quite literally turn off.

Yes?
