I would very much like to own this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Neighbour-Totoro-Steelbook-Blu-ray-DVD/dp/B00FGRP6R4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1382600254&sr=8-2&keywords=my+neighbour+totoro+blu-ray

Does anyone know if it's got the English dubbing or if it's the Japanese original?

Pretty sure it should have both.

The Great Gatsby 3D blu ray. Didn't see it in the cinema but just watched the first few minutes and the 3D is breathtaking. Looking forward to watching it over the weekend!

Bought Pacific Rim 3D in Sainsbury's earlier for £14.99 as an impulse buy. Hope it turns out to be worth the money.

I enjoyed Pacific Rim, but I wouldn't want to watch it again.

Mine arrived from Amazon early in the week, like gooseberry fool did it arrive on release day but I can't complain as the 3D version only cost me £11 anyway.

Just watched my first ever 3D blu ray on my new TV. Tangled is a favourite movie of mine anyway but that just blew me away. Didn't expect it to work so well and look so good.

Wanted to add it (2D version) to my Lovefilm rental list but it apparently isn't available to rent until January.

Does somewhere else have exclusive rights to it until then?

Getting a 3D TV this weekend (55" LG) and I just wondered what are the best 3D blu rays to get? So far I'm thinking of picking up

Jurassic park 3D
Pacific Rim 3D
Amazing Spider-Man 3D
Iron man 3 3D

What else are good showcases?

Don't bother with Iron Man 3 3D, all the marvel studio films seem to be too dark in 3D. Thor 1 was horrific at times :dread:

Pacific Rim is great though. :datass: :datass:

I've picked up a fair few 3D blurays since getting a 3D tv, ignoring how good the films are and basing it purely on the 3D I'd say some of the best in my opinion are:

Avatar
Despicable Me 1 & 2
Life of Pi
A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas
Dredd
Drive Angry
Final Destination 5
Flying Sword of Dragons Gate
Hugo
Pacific Rim
Sanctum

My top 3 would be Avatar, Despicable me (1 or 2) and Hugo, the latter being arguably one of the best imo

Thanks for the suggestions! I picked up Jurassic Park 3D, Amazing Spiderman 3D and Titanic 3D yesterday from HMV (JP was only £12.99) so thats started my collection off nicely

Will look at picking a few more in the new year from the lists you guys provided

And I'm sure you'll find them somewhere on the cheap so get the last 2 Resident Evil movies in 3D (Even if you think they are shite films)

Tron is also quite good in 3D.

Is the UK release of avengers assemble really bad then? I knew they edited the Coulson scene but did they do much else to it?

Looking at buying the Blu ray 3D + Blu ray 2D set from amazon as its £15 at the mo

No, its just not the best use of 3D in a film you are likely to see.

Just spotted this on Amazon...

The distributor for MGM, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, FINALLY has plans to bring a “REMASTERED” version of the original 1987 Paul Verhoeven directed film “Robocop” starring Peter Weller to Blu-ray Disc on January 21st, 2014. This, to obviously make up for the 2007 Blu-ray release’s awful video quality, is also a promotional tie-in with the upcoming remake that will be hitting theaters a month later. Speaking of that remake, this will include “Movie Cash” good for admission to that upon its theatrical release. The title is already available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with a $13.39 price tag. The tech specs are confirmed to include full 1080p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. Bonus materials set to be included on this new Blu-ray version are listed below.

Out 24th Jan, please be a good transfer. If anyone's interested, the original Blu-ray transfer is on Netflix, it really is quite dreadful.

Also, bought this year's remaster of the original Terminator, fantastic image quality :)
