If anyone on PS4 does play this or use the free trial, add me on PSN as "MrParksey" and I'll give you a hand with some things. Though I'm only about 1/5 of the way through the endgame levelling system.

Just started playing this. It seems like an Elder Scrolls game, that's for sure, but it's nice to see other people running about the map, too.

Biggest gripe so far is inventory space. 60 slots isn't much when there are tonnes of consumables and materials about wherever you look. Is there a way to expand this? I read elsewhere that you need to find a bag merchant at the market, but I've gone to the traders in the first town, and nobody seems to be selling bag expansions at all.

You can expand your inventory and bank storage by buying extra space with Gold but it takes quite some time. You can also purchase extra space with real world cash. If you subscribe to ESO Plus (for a monthly fee) you get access to a craft bag that grants unlimited storage space for craft materials (as well as access to all DLC content and 1,500 Crowns each month).

Although ESO is a good game without this, the monthly subscription can make a big difference to gameplay.

That craft bag is crafty - levelled to like level 25 over the weekend because of the free ESO plus trial. Half-completed a quest (which got canned casue trial ended) and enjoyed looting EVERYTHING. Now im regular player, and my bank is filled with crafting gooseberry fool, and still full. Upgraded both Bank and Bag twice, just gotta keep ugrading i guess. Lotta money.

It's odd, the main draw of games like Elder Scrolls is the mad loot, but that's pretty limited unless you got the craft bag. I really like this game, im now level 35, basically played on my own though done some dungeons together with randoms. The thing I don't like is how much the PURCHASE stuff, and CROWN stuff is in-your-face. it's nowhere near as bad as Neverwinter, the gui is jam packed with STORE STORE BUY BUY.

I'm basically exploring the 2 map bits beneath Vvardenffell, where Mournhold is. Using that as a base of operations while doing lots of public dungeon activities. Would be nice to play with friends, might start a new chracter again and go through the game with other ppl soon. Could try out that new Warden class since just got Morrowind.

My Mrs loves this so I bought her the morrowind expansion for Christmas, she's been playing it solidly since then. It looks really nice too in 4k with HDR (well nice for a mmo anyway).

Yeah, once you're used to the craft bag it becomes almost a necessity and thus you're in the subscription loop (£9 or £10 a month). For that you do get access to all of the DLC packs released to date and 1,500 Crowns each month. Not Morrowind, though, because that is a seperately purchaseable expansion!

I've dabbled in the game on and off for a couple of years. I do like it when I get into it although I often struggle to understand the game mechanisms in MMOs; they seem to be so complicated!

Yeah im by no means expert - still playing ESO. Just created a character to travel around Vvardenfell with a few friends - I basically know how all the crafting stuff works, which outside of the adventuring is like an extra wee thing - though I'd say definately more late game stuff since you change loot so often early on it might not be worth crafting things.

Anyway, my PSN is skarmachild - just made a new character, if anyone wants to add and play with us - we'll be going around Vvardenfell mainly, but probably leaving the island at some point soon!

Cool to hear that you're still playing, skarma'. I haven't touched the game in ages but I'm just thinking about returning to it, especially as the new Summerset expansion arrives at the start of June.

Yeah the Morrowind expansion was on PS4 for 5 pounds recently, at HMV online - back on sale at 5 POUNDS!
https://store.hmv.com/games/ps4/elder-s ... -morrowind

Includes the Base Game AND Morrowind Expansion

Convinved my sister and her friend to get them - the more the merrier! Can then give the old ESO disc to other people to play - if anyone needs someone to show them the ropes am here! The game might look super daunting, but really its just a run around hack and slash.

There are extra systems in place to increase the longevity, but its mainly explore and quest.

Summerset Trailer:

The new expansion looks really good - the land mass of Summerset looks very nice, though I will wait till it drastically reduces in price to get it! :P

...thanks for the info, skarma! That looks like a superb price; ESO has had some great price reductions in the past months. Unfortunately I paid full price at launch for Morrowind and I have barely played it!

My sub to ESO has run out but, when I start playing again, I will re-subcribe to get access to all of the DLC zones and the craft bag. Gotta re-learn the controls, though :-).

Yeah I've only used ESO plus when they had a free trial going on - at the time I didnt really know what it meant to didnt use it to t's fullest! Hope a free ESO plus trial happens again soon! Might eventually subscribe once I run out of things to do - though I might just buy the GOLD Edition, comes with 4 DLC's and can usually get the disc for 10 quid online in place - am happy with the base game so far dont feel the need for ESO plus yet!

My main Gripe with ESO is the very short time span before enemies respawn again, as an MMO trope I understand why it has to be done but they respawn so fast that you could stay in one spot indefinitely fighting the same enemies over and over. Also when an enemy strays to far from their spawn point the run back to it and regain full health. It really breaks the illusion.

It's sad because that game is GORGEOUS to look at and in lag free.

Yeah, those 2 points I agree with. However I was playing last night, I dragged an emeny into a town to try and get the guards to attack - the enemy reached the town and then ran away (cause he ran too far). The guards then said something along the lines of "Why is he running back? I'd have liked to kill that guy" and I was like 'huh, that was odd'.

But yeah, theres a fair few restrictions in place that makes it a 'fairer' game for everyone involved, and unfortunately it's not gunna please everyone.

I wouldve actually like the players to have more control - like taking over towns, enemies running/respawning/running back etc, as well as being able to kill other players when you want. I know it'd make it less noob friendly but thats why guards exist, and you'd have to group up with others to avoid said dangers. I guess I missed the time when early WoW was goind around, or Star Wars Galaxies, never played an MMO early enough to check out the interesting mechanics they sometimes 'smooth' over.

Urgh yeah, more than one time I've been in a random group and someone has baited the enemy to move outside of some invisible line and reset their health. They could possibly be a bit more generous with that. The respawn timer hasn't really bothered me.

For my money, it's now probably the best console MMO out there. It's so content rich, I've been playing for maybe 80-100 hours and barely done anything. My other complaint would be that it doesn't do a great job of teaching you how to actually play your role efficiently. I had to go on YouTube to watch some videos and even now I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.

It's the type of game I play intensively for a month and then put aside for a bit. Right now I'm in the downtime period but around Christmas I was absolutely pounding the game. For a fiver it's ridiculous value.

If I don't give a gooseberry fool about others but fancy some fresh Tamriel shenanigans, is this worth it for playing alone?

I think you'll have fun going solo in the game, Skarjo, as long as you're not expecting to be Skyrim Online. It's very much an MMO in ES clothing and it plays in that style.

The latest expansion, Summerset, is live on PC and launching on 5 June for consoles. The environments look lovely and lush... it'll be a good reason for me to return to the game.

I really must get back into ESO. It's a really good MMO that deserves a lot more of my attention. Maybe I'll give Conan Exiles a break this weekend and play ESO instead.
