On Fathers day eve I'm treating myself to starting my Dark Brotherhood playthrough on this while sipping some beers. Can't wait.

What level are you Garth? I'm level 19.

So I've had this for a while, didn't really get on with it the first time around but I reinstalled it last night and played it for about an hour or so tonight. Started a new character as a Nord and really enjoyed the game, completed the tutorial and 3 or r quest, gotyswld up to level 5 and with how much I enjoyed it I definitely see myself playing it a lot more.

You've created a Father's Day Eve?!

Once I've cleared my backlog (going through about two games a week at the moment so it might be done by the Autumn), I think I'm going to finally pick this up.

As a non-father, I feel sorry for you beleaguered girlfriend/wife this weekend.

When I finally have a kid of my own, I will of course be adopting Father's Day Eve in honour of your memory.

Played a good few hours of this on Saturday night, the new sneaking and execution mechanic works wonders, It's still VERY difficult but genuinely adds something new to proceedings. Fighting has changed a bit, seems smoother and with better animations.

The next update, Shadows of the Hist, has been announced! No release date yet, but it will bring text chat to the console versions :toot: .

So people that know the game :

Is this a good version/deal? No idea what model it's on now

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Elder-Scrolls- ... B00BT9DVDO

Likely to be a couple of chums playing it like a co-op campaign rather than for ALL THE MMO STUFF

I think that link has stopped working, Hexx.

I enjoy ESO but I'm not sure if it'd work well as a co-op campaign. For a few hours at the start of the game it's very much a single-player experience. Once you've levelled up a bit you could team up with others to tackle multi-player challenges, but you'd probably need to make sure that you all choose the same pact ("team" / "group") at the start - there are three to choose from - so that you are all in the same starting area of the game.

Oh, and it's worth mentioning that ESO on PC allows text chat whilst the console versions only currently have voice chat... although text chat will arrive in a future update.

So at level 5 in this.

So far it's basically Elder Scrolls with MMO elements (shocking I know). Pootered about the first area doing quests enjoying myself a fair bit - reached the first big town, and left it for a while. (The map and trying to work out what shops etc are where is horrid)

I went High Elf Sorcer with the faction that likes cats (Chum wanted to be cat)

Text chat arrives on PS4 and XBO on Tuesday (16 August) :toot: . Click for full details.

I'm looking forward to this; Final Fantasy XIV has had text chat since launch and I find that it adds a huge degree of social cohesion to the game. I'm hoping that it does the same for ESO.

I couldn't think of anywhere else to post this. I have just discovered a whole sub-genre of Elder Scrolls music:

Here is the theme to N'wah Genesis Evangelion:

And...this

Update 11 has been released for download. It's 19.2GB on PS4  . I've checked and, yep, that's just the update! I thought I was gonna be playing it this evening... but I guess not.

EDIT: To be fair, the amount of additions and changes are huge. Click here for the full info.

Hey! You! Do you play ESO on PS4?

("No." Everyone exits the thread)

There is an ESO Crown sale on the PS Store; the 5,500 Crown pack is reduced from £23.99 to 11.99. That's around 50% off, maths fans!

How am I going to resist this?

EDIT: Oh, and I guess this is is probably something that no-one else does, but... does anyone pay the monthly subscription? I've started and it's impossible to play without it now, because the sub-only crafting bag (i.e. limitless storage) is such a boon to playing the game. I'd like to stop paying but, like an addict, I can't do without it.

No way am I paying a monthly sub, especially since I just scratched the surface, I saddens me that we not on same system jawa as we only grcaders who seem to give a toss. I did pay for a horse tho, and the assasins guild stuff. We get those ESO pts sales every couple of months on X1, handy.

It seems that very few GRcadians play MMO(RPG)s. Seven is a huge fan of FF XIV (and I think Laga used to play) and I will (eventually) return to that, and I know that a couple of folk play World of Warcraft, but ESO seems quiet here.

I didn't originally pay a sub but the crafting bag is such a boost; almost essential for the amount of stuff that is collected and crafted. Additionally, you get to access all of the game expansion DLC content. Now that I've started paying it I won't be able to go back to the non-pay approach... :| .

Hey, Photek - did you know about One Tamriel, the next big ESO update? It transforms the game, allowing players from each of the three groups to team-up and fight any misison in any order; with enemies scaling accordingly. We'll be able to walk right across all areas of Tamriel, choosing to tackle and when. I don't think a specific launch date has been announced, but it seems that it could arrive late this year.

Yep I know all about the one tamriel expansion, thanks to you posting it on here ages ago, looks like it could be great! The community at least seems healthy enough, although I'll be utilising Xbox's Group finder/founder function when it lands to find more like minded same leveled players.

You'd LOVE Ark Survival Evolved man, as MMO's go it's easily king on X1 at mo, it's in preview form at mo but plays excellently. Interestingly, Ark Survival Evolved has a PS4 build up and running but Sony don't have a preview program and told the devs they can't release it till it's finished so could be next year for you guys.
