I've just started the remastered edition on Pro and this feels like an almost completely different game to what I remember. It's so much more fluid and quick it just feels like it plays completely differently.
I have a feeling I'm going to sink a lot of time into this yet again.

I don't remember the Stormcloaks (and a lot of their Nord support) being this racist before... :dread:

Yeah but the Imperials are some bad hombres so it's ok to do some extreme vetting with my greatsword.

Yeah, most Nords hate other races. They're Nazis basically.

I might some nice Nords other places but Ulfric seems like a twunt and Nords around Windhelm are horrid.

Let's murder them.

Having a lovely time bashing through this (about level 45 now)

Leveling has slowed down massively now most of the skills I use are high - and the skill ups needed to level up have increased. Can't see how I can realistically start leveling anymore "from scratch" as they'd be so weak now (e.g. 1 handed weapons).

I was tempted to do Dest. magic for a change and to get some easy rank ups - but the damage is pitiful (and I remember it's pretty dire at higher levels still)

Likewise I don't want to "Legendary" some of them as it'll massively hamper me going forward (e.g. losing 100% bow damage, staggering and crits feels like a BAD idea)

Worked my round various guilds/holds to bulk of quests - don't think I've missed too much. Trying to avoid Radiant malarkey.

I've still got Dawnstar, Winterhold, College, Falkreath, Civil War and Main Quest to go (with Dragonborn last)

Dawnguard felt really bobbins. I wanted to be fighting Vampires in Castles etc - but most of my time was spent in some massive confusing underground cave. (I'm assume the "other side" choice would be very similar)

If you make block legendary then pick a fight with a giant and just stand there blocking you can have it maxed out again in no time flat. In the late game I went from like level 60 to level 80+ in a few hours or so.

Why would anyone ever choose anything but a conjuration, restoration and destruction magic user?
At max level they become unstoppable as I can summon Dremora Lords to hand out some epic beatings while burning you to a crisp and healing myself just for fun.
Warriors are just pointless.

If you're not a Nord with a sword you're doing the Skyrim wrong.

That just sounds like a dumb cave man build.

I was wearing Ancient Falamar Armor in my bow build (looked badass) switching to magic means new armor needed....and there's only on AG in the game :(

Got back into this after a couple of months out, still only level 20. Had my arse handed to me a few times (and suffered a couple of brutal decapitations by venturing into areas on the edges of the map, but other than that my Nord-with-a-Sword is proving a pretty reliable build.

Decided to not do ANY of the main story until I absolutely have to, so just completely focussing on miscellaneous quests with my trusty sidekick... erm... Olga? Can't remember her name but she's like Brienne of Tarth.

Google also tells me that your followers normally only die if you deal the finishing blow. When they are critically injured and crouch down the enemy switches focus to you so that they can recover. This means I'm probably responsible for killing most of my followers in both this and my previous playthrough - whoops! :fp:

Another reason why Obsidian should make an Elder Scrolls game after making New Vegas 2

I never used followers in Skyrim because what is the point in having an invincible computer controlled companion.

Aside from combat, they have their uses (carrying gooseberry fool, mainly).

Enemies stop targeting them but they can still get hit, especially by spells or arrows intended for you. Most of the companions who died on me got caught in crossfire from enemy mages.
