You can save two *things* to the d-pad. First favourite it, then bring up the faves menu in-game, now press left and right on the two you want quick access to.

Thanks for that, I hadn't worked that one out. However it's still not quite the same as having 8 things to change between at a button press and it's a shame they changed it.

 I was in a similar position and then I read Silva's post informing me of the hotkey feature. :fp: at self.

Yup, the UI isn't Skyrim's strongest point.

200 hours+ on my first playthrough. 43 hours+ on current one. Only just found my first beehive. A proper one, out in the wilds, not like the ones in the Thieves Guild mission.

I played for 160+ hours and never discovered that feature. :x

Well I'm slagging them off for never explaining it to you in the tutorial.

Well us three missed it if it is indeed in there so it can't be very striking.

Mmm, I've only heard about that from other people. Never seen anything in-game instructing you on it or telling you it's available.

Indeed it does. But you can't claim the information wasn't offered to you.

Good thing I wasn't claiming that then. ;)

But yeah, good that it's in the manual. Never felt the need to use that option though. I'm too attached to my battle axe. Brute force all the way.

It's in the manual.

Games still come with manuals that have more than the usual legal info in them? I haven't opened one in years.

Skyrim does. It's not bad. Only black and white, but plenty of info. Of course, it also comes with a beautiful map, so the black and white-ness can be forgiven.

How do you put stuff on the walls in the houses you buy? I have all the houses with all the upgrades and I've worked out how to use the weapon racks but I have no idea how to put other stuff up like my many masks etc.
Also is it me or is the house in Solitude lacking in storage and places to hang things? Can I buy extra chests or at least move them all into the same room so I can have all my stuff available quickly rather than spread around the house.

The companion is just annoying me. Can you play the game okay if you tell them to go away?

Their only real use is either a pack mule or a meat sheild. You'll be fine without them.
