Their only real use is either a pack mule or a meat sheild. You'll be fine without them.

So far I've only come across one instance where you actually NEED a follower/companion:

The daedric quest where you need to instruct someone to touch a shire before you sacrifice them.

Cracked on with some more of the thieves guild last night. I think i've only got one more mission to do. Its been a great plot line, with some top notch sneaking, which has all been helped by my bloke being at 100 sneak anyway 8-)

Just joined the dark brotherhood too, looking forward to seeing what thats got in store.

Cheers. Mine died anyway, her service will not be forgotten. To save the potential lives of any other future companions, I think I'll decline their services from now on.

This game wouldn't really make much sense if you were playing as anything other than a Nord.

My character is just in it for the money and the fact he's Dragonborne just makes that task a tad easier. He'd kill every last Nord if he thought he could get enough cash.

Completed the Dark Brotherhood quest line last night.

He took it rather well really.

I started a new character, an Orc this time. He, like every other character I ever play, is going to be a big bastard with a sword.

I've made two characters and both have been kind of backward: The first one ended up a Nordic assassin, the second is well on her way to being a badass Dunmer warrior.

He says it's really dark at night, pretty much pitch black, personally I think that's a good thing, but what's it like when there's a aurora above head? Does the night get lighter then?

I'll let you know when i figure out how to use bloody Nexus :x

edit - From the maker.
Clear sky nights should be bright enough to stay on the road while travelling without a light :) I'll be making a bright-nights version soon if the darkness of the nights don't fit for some.

Just met Cicero out on the road. He's transporting you-know-who but his wagon's got a broken wheel. Not sure if I should dob him in or help.

If you grass him up, he'll still end up at the Sanctuary but he'll murder those innocent farmers.

It's normal to pretend to roleplay as you play an ES game, right?

Why not just roleplay? Or skip it altogether? Why do you feel you have to pretend?

Yeah, that's what I meant. That post was a combination of two sentences that I'd edited before posting that now doesn't make sense.

I have several sets of clothes for doing different things. When I get to a city, I change into my belted tunic and dress boots, gloves, and my non-combat sword. When it snows, up goes my hood. I generally walk, or at the most, jog, when in cities, even if it takes ages to get to where I need to go. Quests are accepted or declined and actions performed based on my characters principles.

It'd be nice if clothing was more than just head, body, wrists/hands and feet with one necklace and ring. I also would have liked it with your melee weapon remained on your person when you have your bow out.

Cicero quest glitched for me I think.

Told the farmer to help him, whenever I've travelled past the place, he's still sitting there waiting on help.

That's our Cicero! A strawberry floating mentalist.

I ended up helping him out.

Did you talk to Cicero after? He gives you 500g and that's the quest done. I didn't go back after though, so no idea if he's still there or not.

In my game helping him was one of the first things I did. Weeks later he was still there.

I think he stays there until the quest where he turns up at the Brotherhood's Sanctuary.
