I am so sick of all the quests being so short! They begin to get interesting, and then just end.

I seem to only ever post in this thread about quest logic bugs I'm encountering

But I've hit a pretty major one, in the main quest line when the Greybeards award the final word of the Unrelenting Force shout after you return the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller to them. I receive the word from one of them, then stand in the middle of the room and it freezes me on the spot as they prepare to chant, but nothing happens. I am eternally frozen there, can't do anything. Reloading from an earlier save, doing it again, the same thing happens.

I cannot convey how annoyed I am at this. This game that I love abuses me constantly but I just keep coming back for more.

I've just hit my first major glitch. The game won't let me do the last 2 companion quests which means I can't get cured. It's a tadd annoying but not much more than that.

Funny how some people are affected by glitches, but not others. The code is all the same, so how come it isn't always one way or the other? Is it just about how you do things in the run up to that particular quest, or something? :?

Yeah, typically, you will have had to have followed a very specific sequence of events, be they minor or major, to trigger such a bug. So in a game the size of Skyrim's it's going to be very difficult to track down the hard to reproduce ones. Still, annoying to have one like that screwing up the main quest line for me. A Google shows that other people have experienced that same bug, with no discernible solution. I'm praying the 1.4 patch fixes it, though I didn't see it referenced in the release notes.

Right, yeah. Guess you can't test every possible way of doing things and every route to a certain point in the game. Sucks. :(

It's a necessary sacrifice to make in order to have games of the size and scale that we want, unfortunately.

I had a little tiny go in Skyrim yesterday. It was 2.25am in the game and a giant was chasing me through the plains. I turned to him and shot him in the face with my bow and arrow.

Properly bored of this now, I knew I shouldn'y have done so much wandering :fp:

I'll leave it a week or two and then crack on with the main quest/theivs/brotherhood I think

Just completed the entire Imperial Civil War questline in one sitting. Being a summoner makes me so overpowered it's ridiculous!

Lego Grand Theft Auto... You KNOW you would buy it.

You are having the worstest luck ever with this.

Can you look around and stuff? There are many moments in the game when it stops you from moving about but still allows you to look around a little and interact (by talking or clicking)... you can't do that either? If you can get close enough to the one who's going to impart the word to you maybe you'll be able to look at the word on the ground and click it (if I'm remembering how they teach you Shouts correctly).

Well, one time the word did sort of unlock (it appeared on the floor), and I found I could actually purchase it with a Dragon Soul from the menu (I assume though that you are supposed to be given it for free). I was able to leave and use the full Shout but the story did not progress, so I had to return to try and trigger something (they were still standing in the hall, waiting for me), and it locked me in position while they prepared to do some more chanting. I can look around but cannot interact with anything. I have tried it a few times by standing in different positions but to no avail.

I'll try it again this evening, maybe doing a few different things, reloading different saves etc.

:(

Hmm. Seems like being frozen in place is intended but a vital componant of the encounter is indeed failing to trigger

Return to High Hrothgar

Return to High Hrothgar with the Horn and present it to Arngeir, completing the task he originally gave you. (Additionally, you can return to Ustengrav and receive another reward; see Notes.) Arngeir will go to the main hall, where the other Greybeards are assembled, and Wulfgar will teach you the last word to the Unrelenting Force Shout. You will then be frozen where you stand to learn the Word, and all the Greybeards will Speak to you at once in Dragon Tongue, formally recognizing you as Dragonborn. (You are not harmed by this exchange.) This completes the quest, and from now on High Hrothgar is open to you.

It gets worse :( Searching for the quest on http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Hor ... Windcaller and http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_ ... Windcaller fails to bring up the issue you're having with it, which makes me think this is going to be another issue you're not going to see fixed.

I read on another forum that punching/pushing up against stuck NPC's sometimes fixes them (seriously, not a joke). Try that if you can get close enough to one of the Greybeards.

I've had a few dragon encounters on this new character but only killed one. The others were just teasing or the surrounding areas were filled with dragon fodder which kept it from landing. The best one being near Halted Stream Camp where the dragon was taking on a giant and then the camp itself. My first dragon kill was pretty good too though: level 15 and only used melee and shouts. Only let him get one fire breath off and that was as I landed the killing blow.
Managed to kill Drelas first time too. Shame I don't get his cottage...
