Not really much to the main quest is there :?

No not really and was you or anyone else a little disappointed that you didn't get anything great for killing him? The summon a champion shout is all well and good but they summon at the expense of other summoned allies as well and only last 60 seconds or so.

The high point of the main quest for me was using the Elder Scroll and then visiting Sovngarde. Biggest let down was being left on the mountain at the end on your tod. You'd think someone would have made the effort to come and see you and say thanks...

Yeah I got it way before killing Alduin as well. Seems SoK is the one who did it backwards. :shifty:

Also, if you've killed Alduin the kill Parthuunax quest automatically fails as you made your choice.

I don't want to kill him so will have to miss out on the blades extra quest. Or already have it seems because I've completed the main quest.

Has this happened to anyone else:

Image

Every time I go back there's another one of him there!

Anyway, currently on working through the dark brotherhood quests and I think I'm nearing the end of them. Also doing more jobs for the thieves guild for more special missions towards 'restoring it to its former glory'. I'm stuck on a fishing job because of my low pickpocketing skill so I'm using a trainer every time I level up and activating the pickpocketing perks, as well as pickpocketing as many people as I can. Apart from the thieves guild boots, I can't seem to find any gear to increase pickpocketing. Once I've finished with those two guilds I think I'll only have a daedric quest left to finish.

I think you can enchant a couple of items to boost pickpocketing (loves, ring, necklace?). I didnt spend a single perk on pick pocketing, just save, try to pickpocket then save or reload. Target jewellery items - ones with high worth to weight ratios, go for the rings and necklaces then work up to the more expensive jewelled variety. Try to pickpocket anyone you see. I found that the skill goes up very quickly. You can then sell your stolen jewellery to a fence to make alot of money. Wish i had found this earlier in the game.

You can always stop the fishing job if its too hard by returning to devlin(?). I think i did that ones when the % chance was way too low.

I did the save game/attempt to pickpocket/reload if fail method on a pickpocket job that had ridiculously low success rate (had to swipe a necklace off that uppity bint who runs the clothes shop in Solitude).

That's the problem. It doesn't seem to let me destroy the thieves guild boots to learn the pickpocketing enchantment and I can't find any other items with the enchantment. Money isn't a problem - I've got too much of it - so I would happily pay a ridiculous price for a piece of clothing with the pickpocketing perk. I think I've got my skill up to 45 now but trying to pickpocket the flawless emerald from a member of the bards college is still impossible.

I see. I dont think you can destroy certain items for enchants and the thieves guild stuff is one of them. I think its a case of doing the rounds at the general/smith/clothes/weapons shops in the cities to find a pickpocket enchanted item to unenchant.

Just managed to complete the job! And largely because I tried out this suggestion, so thank you! I'd levelled up once more, activated another pickpocket % perk (because I am utterly impatient), pickpocketed everyone in falkreath and then when I went to Windhelm I found quite a few worthy targets with expensive jewellery in their pockets that was suddenly possible to steal. The skill began to increase quite rapidly. Back in the bards college in Solitude the flawless emerald was now 70% instead of 0. Finally!

Same!

I was level 44 before I leant to use shouts :D

Think I've killed this game now*, started a new character last weekend and I went the stealthy route. I've done the DBH, Thieves Guild and quite a few quests are glitched. Might do the companion quests, or start a new character to do it.

* Make 50 iron daggers, enchant with banish, sell... Repeat.

Buy a load of iron ingots and leather straps and then make the iron daggers at a forge.

Use the house in Riverwood belonging to whomever you sided with in the opening mission if you're just looking for a place to dump stuff. It may be locked but just use the wait feature and it'll be open to you soon enough.

I wish I had it on PC so I could FRAPS when I go rambling.
Had a great walk last night. I was SE of Rorikstead out on the heath as it was approaching dusk, it was overcast with a bit of fog but you could still off into distance as I was in a sort of basin. There was a giant out walking his mammoth (I left 'em to it), nothing much happened but it was great just being out there.
