I'm going through all the faction questlines in this at the minute having finished The Companions and the Thieves Guild I've just started The Dark Brotherhood quests. I miss the more interesting assassinations from Oblivion where there was always a special way of carrying out the hit that would yield better rewards such as making it look like an accident or switching some guy's meds for poison.

I'm on PS4, put quite a lot of hours in and I think they're pretty good. Barely noticable at times like entering and exiting buildings.

I didn't play the PS3 version but on 360 load times were pretty bad so if PS3 was comparable it must have been bad. There were a whole bunch of bugs I encountered in the 360 version too which I bought at launch which I understand have been fixed now, mainly unbeatable quests where if you pick up the item needed before you have the quest in your log the NPC doesn't acknowledge you having it.

In fact I haven't really seen any major bugs in this version, no broken quests, no important NPCs getting frozen in place permanently and it's only crashed twice which is good going for a Bethesda game.

Managed to avoid buying this so far, although last night on the way home from work one of the songs from the game came onto my ipod in my car and I nearly pulled into the local Tesco to grab it :lol:

I know I'll cave before long, so weak :fp:

DLC plus improved load times are the big draws for me on this, having only ever played vanilla PS3.

I just realized I got this for Free as I had the Elderscrolls Anthology :toot: can you just copy your save game over from the normal skyrim and continue where you left off?

I think someone on here said the saves aren't compatible with each version of the game (bar Vanilla and Legendary)

I keep getting a glitch in this at the minute where I get stuck in slow motion after blocking, it usually happens in Dwemer ruins and it's getting to be a real nuisance.

I discovered in the vanilla version of this that an easy way to level up overall and specifically in blocking was to pick a fight with a giant (once you're strong enough to take one on that is) and just stand there blocking. Now multiply that by the ability to make a skill legendary when it hits 100 and start it over from level 15 again and you have a borderline game breaking exploit for levelling up almost indefinitely.

I tried it and it seemed to work, but as my PC is old I'm not sure playing the Special Edition is worth it for me, I either play the normal one on Ultimate, or the new one on medium, I'm not sure which one looks better. :lol:

I think there are many exploits like this in the Elder Scrolls games. I know for one that you can increase your sneak skill by getting close to some enemies but remaining in an area where you will be out of sight (i.e. some enemies around a corner, or in the same room as enemies but stood behind a pillar) then just facing a wall and continuing to walk forward - on PC there is a key that locks the player moving forever, not sure if there is an equivalent on console. As long as you remain hidden your sneak skill will increase quickly.

Similarly I think (certainly it was the case in Oblivion) that you can find a spot where the ceiling is nearly at head height so that when you jump you almost instantly land and the just keep jumping and your "jumping" skill (dexterity? agility?) will increase very quickly.

I found that once you can summon 2 Dremora Lords you pretty much just let them do all the fighting and don't really need to worry as you have enough magic to just summon 2 more if they die. It kind of takes all the challenge out of the game though.

I remember there being one in the Greybeard's Temple at the top of the mountain where you could sneak the whole time and just level up rapidly. I think you could also couple that with using your bow & arrow to shoot the old men in the temple, but since they weren't killable you could just do it over and over and over until your archery level was sky high.

I used to duck behind the wall when the Khajiit traders were outside Whiterun and move left to right for a while. Back on 360 I found using Bound Sword to be quite useful as it levelled up both One Handed and Conjuration but didn't really bother with it this time around. You cant just spam stuff here like in Oblivion where I used to travel the lands casting pointless healing spells, jumping constantly and swimming into walls :lol:

Exactly how it worked when I first played the game. Spent absolutely ages levelling up conjuration, starting with the shitty Zombies all the way up to the Atronachs, then onto the Dremora Lords. Basically got to the point where I could have them around more or less permanently as my magika regenerated so quickly. It was hilarious watching them annihilate everything in their way though.
