Is the Switch version the PS3/360 version or the special remaster that came to PS4/bone?

Looks like it does have some of the graphical changes from the special edition, see the lighting and foliage here -

The Switch version also includes all the DLC and motion controls of course.

If I had a Switch this is a must buy, even though it'll be my third time to buy it.

If the PSVR version reviews well I'll be getting that one. If it doesn't then it'll be the Switch version.

IGN's preview from Gamescom is not good - specifically criticism is directed at the teleportation movement with the Move controllers. However I believe there is a way to play without motion controls using the DualShock which is certainly how I would prefer to play although there may be some risks of nausea. The graphics of an obviously lower quality than the standard game however but immersed in VR this might not be noticeable. The idea of playing Skyrim in VR is just amazing to me - but I will rent the game because I want to see if I can play with the controller without wanting to puke!

I am concerned about the text in the Switch version. Having played Doom in portable mode, I felt that much of the text is just too small - even though the gameplay is great. Skyrim uses far more text and it is even more important to be able to read it.

Hmmn. I hope the text issue doesn’t place a dampener on this.

Yeah, I went with ShopTo, KingK. I'm looking forward to it! Hope the text isn't too small in portable mode, though.

My main problem with this is the price. The remastered PS4 version is often just over a tenner, which is great value. The Switch one is likely going to be over forty quid for a while. I'm not sure if it's going to be worth the extra cash just to get it in handheld mode.

I actually own the game on 360 and like with Oblivion, my first 150 hours with the game haven't really got me anywhere. I left my 360 in the UK so haven't played it in over 3 years though. Don't know if can stomach starting a new character, though I guess even the stuff I've done might seem pretty fresh.

And then my mind snaps back to the long haul flights and Christmas and makes me want the Switch version again...

I'm the same, absolutely dying to get this on Switch - just for the fact would be surreal playing it portable but can't see this for under £43.99 Smyths, which I think is best price :| . LA Noire for £36 is slightly more bearable.

Never did get the PS4 remaster so may be as well getting that.

I've gone digital as this is the kind of game I don't want to be fumbling around with carts, I just want it on the console 24/7.

It doesn't excuse the quite disgraceful pricing though, there is no excuse for that but I guess they have us by the balls as they know that portable Skyrim is an enticing product.

Fair play to Bethesda though, historically Skyrim should be remembered as a defining game in the industry. That it can be released on a new console 6 years after launch, and command full price and kind of get away with it, is a testament to how good it was originally.

I can imagine too that there will be still quite a few people and a younger generation who never played the original. Finally they can deliver on that promise of a portable Elder Scrolls started with that cancelled Oblivion PSP port!

The Switch version is £42.85 at ShopTo; and lower if you’re a Gold or Silver member.
