I never played Oblivion so can’t compare, heard the DB was better in that though.

The dark brotherhood quest in oblivion was so good, really enjoyed that. The one in skyrim was very disapointing by comparison.

I might have to try it out when I’ve got Game Pass with the Series X then.

Yeah Dark Brotherhood was probably my highlight of Oblivion, although again I seemed to spend all of my time in that game doing very little of the main quest lines so I've not got much to compare it against!

Oblivion Dark Brotherhood was good enough to be a main quest itself.

This thread is tempting me into booting up my 360 and seeing if my old Oblivion save still works.

Skyrim with super fast loading, HDR and stable 60fps would be pretty good and I doubt it'd be that much work to achieve.
Maybe bump up some of the graphics settings if they can.

I really quite fancy playing Oblivion again but I've got no idea where the disc is for it anymore!

Another reason for digital supremacy!

Considering how much Skyrim has been ported its amazing none of the previous entry’s in the series have had even one port, or at least not to my knowledge.

I'd have loved to have seen the anthology they did show up on consoles.

Found the disc, dusted down the Xbox 360 (holy gooseberry fool this thing is heavy and loud) and found my 42 hour save from March 2007 intact. Only, because I can't sign into to Xbox Live for whatever reason I think it's got rid of whatever DLC I might have had downloaded?

Level 14 after 42 hours? What the strawberry float was I even doing back then?!

EDIT - Also, with all the options available I chose to be an Imperial, Warrior, Knight with the blandest looking face. I think I just wanted to get going and thought I'd make a more interesting character later on but never did.

How is that possible??

Did you just spend all your time renting the same room in the Winking Skeever and never do any missions??

I remember spending quite a few hours near the start of the game just doing looting runs to ruins/mines near the Imperial City and then selling all the stuff back at Three Brothers Trade Goods in the city. It was ages before I actually did any real quests!

It's very easy to spend 40 hours doing nothing of note in these games

Pro-tip: find an area where the ceiling is really close to the floor so that you jump and land almost instantly then just spam the jump button and you will rocket up through the levels! :slol:

In oblivion I found a dark corner in a house that was close to a NPC. If I crouched and moved in to the corner it couldn't see me but was counting as stealth, so I wedged those buttons down with various objects and left it walking all night. I think I went up 30 or so levels

Of course becuase of the way level scaling worked in that, I end out of the town to face minotaurs on the paths that I was nowhere close to being able to beat.

The stealth trick still worked in Skyrim as well, just wedge yourself somewhere hidden but near a character and hit the "auto-walk" button and then leave it to reap the benefit! :toot:
