The Elder Scrolls VI - Xbox Series, PC.

Anything to do with games at all.

I just hope they keep the map size the same for 6.

The game doesn't need to get any bigger, it's large enough to have all the content you could need. If anything it could do with being slightly smaller and more densely packed. They can add extra areas with DLC packs.

Not for me! The size really helps the immersive sensation of having a large land to explore.

If TES games were more structured, focused RPGs in general then I'd agree. But being the sprawling, free-form style of exploration/adventure RPGs they intentionally are, I think it would be a major backwards step to shrink them down.

Nah, sure we'll have Oblivion Remastered for a more condensed world but I'd want a far bigger land plus Avowed is also going to be more condensed.

Is that a real think?

I’d be fine if the map size was roughly the same size as Skyrim, it’s still a huge map, naturally it’ll end up loads bigger than Skyrim of course, just the way games are going now.

Tears of the Kingdom is a recent example, BoTW was a huge map, they more or less doubled the map size in TotK :dread:

The size of the world isn't the issue, it's how well that world is constructed and the quality of the content that populates it which matters. Based on Bethesda's trajectory over the years I don't hold out a huge amount of hope for that

Yeah if it’s got the content to justify the larger map then fine, Skyrim was right on the cusp of that I felt, there was plenty to do (even if some was a bit same-y) but given how Starfield’s 1000 unique planet claim turned out, I feel they’ll go massively overboard in the game size with TES6 :(

In TotK, the depths especially didn’t have the content to justify it being a mirror of Hyrule without the water, small parts of it were excellent (the first time you jump down to follow Robbie in particular), but hunting the light roots got dull fast in my opinion, the colosseums were neat though.
