Is anyone else watching this? It's pretty pedestrian so far. It's not going down the is it/isn't it fraud route and just being very much 'Yes there is a strawberry floating ghost thank you very much', and both Spall and Macfadyen are criminally underused. They're just not really doing anything.

And then it went for a bathroom cabinet scare. I mean, come on.

Of course, the bit where it took me a good fifteen minutes to work out that the actress playing the young girl was probably not the same actress who played Newt in Aliens because that was made about 30 years and she's probably not still nine was definitely the high point.

This is the story that The Conjuring 2 will be based on iirc.

All three parts are available on Sky On Demand so my brother and I sat and watched it at the weekend. I've seen a couple of documentary's about it (ITV's Strange But True FTW) so it was quite nice to see it dramatised. It was pretty good, although some parts were pretty cringeworthy, mainly when they drag in the crow-faced medium.

And as soon as the girl opened that cabinet you could see what was coming.

Bloody freaky wasn't it.I thought they did such a good job on it and far better than a lot of big budget horror films

Did this series start with a "based on actual events" kinda thing? Because that would have been HILARIOUS

It states at the beginning of each episode that it's based on real events.

I love it when movies start with " based on true events " then go on at the end to say " this movie is fictitious, any resemblance to.... " . I mean make your strawberry floating mind up!

Hmmmm did Passion of the Christ claim to be based on real events? Do any religious movies?

But it is based on true events. Whether it's bollocks or not is irrelevant.

Just watched the last part yesterday and thought it was very good. Having it set in the 70s gave it a bit of an Exorcist feel and also some nice nostalgic memories. I could see this being quite scary for some people.

Yes?

I thought the main little girl in this was excellent, as I usually find child actors incredibly annoying.

Wish she has been a bit older, as she would have made a far better Hermione Granger. I want no trouble Falsey
