Dyson on Marr this morning says the best way forward would be to walk away from talks with the EU, scrap corporation tax and make it easier to fire employees.

Dyson just thinks he’ll make money once we don’t have EU protections. Arsehole.

As long as the rich can make money easy they will employ more and the poor will benefit by being to have jobs.

You already have to wait two years before you qualify for redundancy, assuming you are lucky enough to get a permanent job in the first place (very difficult these days).

Here's an idea. Maybe instead of constantly whining, UK employers stop treating their workforce like a disposable commodity and start investing in it instead. It beggars belief that they put so little value on the most expensive asset their company has. Also, maybe if they actually bothered investing in and training people we wouldn't have the skills gap we currently have and would have much better growth.

I know plenty of qualified individuals who can't get work in their chosen profession because no one can be bothered training anyone without the experience ever since 2008. More telling is that the lack of qualified people seems to extend right up into very senior roles, meaning you can't just explain it away as a failure of education. Companies across the board are completely failing to invest in their workforce to the detriment of entire industries. It's this attitude of treating workers as disposable resources that is the blame. No wonder the UK has such terrible productivity.

Very few people I know have a career as such just a job that may change from time to time there doesn't seem to be the start at the bottom and work up thing that people used to have.

The weirdest thing is that there's so many complaints over the current generation not having high end jobs, but companies not thinking that perhaps the Graduate role you're advertising requiring a minimum 2 years of experience might be the issue?

That was the problem I faced right out of University. Every graduate role required 2-5 years experience as a minimum, despite the word "Graduate" being in the job title.
What they actually wanted was someone who had done the job for years then decided to go back to University later in life, or study for a degree part-time, rather than a fresh 21/22 year old graduate.

David Davis dismisses the EU's two-week deadline for Britain to set out 'divorce' bill commitment

David Davis has dismissed the two-week deadline set by the chief EU Brexit negotiator for the UK setting out how it will meet its financial obligations.

The Brexit Secretary laughed in an interview when he was asked about the deadline set out by Michel Barnier on Friday.

He said the real deadline was in December and warned the EU not to expect a figure or a formula by which the UK’s obligations would be calculated.

It's becoming more and more obvious that the government are intentionally sabotaging the negotiations themselves in order to force a no deal scenario.

We're getting no deal, while Arch Brexitters pat themselves on the back for how strong they've been in the face of EU 'threats' and 'demands'

Such are their broken personalties that any price will be worth paying so they can feel like "big men" or "victors" who should the establishment.

The thing is the government taking out of the eu with no deal isn’t the what the ‘will of the people’ want. They keep hiding behind this phrase but I can guarantee the majority want a deal. A lot of people voting to leave did so because they were told repeatedly that we could negotiate a free trade deal without free movement of people. That’s what a lot of people wanted. If the government doesn’t achieve that then it is no longer carrying out what the people voted for.

The vote was super vague so leave voters voted for whatever the government says they voted for, any personal reasons are irrelevant as you couldn't express it in the vote and as such the vote can be hijacked as it has for any cause the person in power wants it to mean.

I agree completely, but the minority of people who have wanted no deal all along will disingenuously screech about "democracy!!!" loudly enough that most MPs will be terrified to stand up and say this.

Things are looking quite grim regarding getting a trade deal at the moment... how on earth did we get here?
