Segregation and lack of integration is definitely a big problem in certain parts of the UK. Multiculturalism has failed in these towns and neighbourhoods and that needs addressing. You can't social engineer that overnight. Having areas that are practically 100% white and then predominantly asian is no good. I think a lot of 'Surrey Southerners' are oblivious to it because they never venture to these parts of England. The atmosphere in these places is absolutely terrible.
Unless it's China Town, these 1 race enclaves are a breeding ground for hardline views. We don't want to end up like parts of France. But people bury their head in the sand on this subject a lot. Or don't care. "They're all terrorists and racists". Well that's great, but then what. You need a solution. Forced integration in schools has been trailed somewhere in the U.K. I believe, so you effectively engineer a mixed school by closing another.

The article isn't an April Fools joke despite the date.

That news from Spain is pretty good for the Scottish independence campaigners, certainly makes a path to EU re-entry seem more viable without that veto hurdle to overcome.

Does anyone really give a gooseberry fool about the colour of the passport or whether the cover is hardback or not? Who are these people nostalgic for it. It's ridiculous.

Yeah but they look like us so it's ok.
I guess you're right
We're not a very religious country so I don't know why so many people let it get to them so badly
It's believed to be 3 million now. You guys are burying your heads in the sand if you don't realise the widespread hatred that is forming towards people of Muslim religion. All you have to do is read any DM article, read the comments and see the thousands of comments that are liked into the tens of thousands. A lot of this hatred and worry I think has been formed on the back of media like the DM and Express. Then you've got Independent news sites that are shared over platforms like Facebook. They wanted out of EU to take back control of our borders because they were told this was the only way of stopping people from those cultures coming here.
I'm well aware of the hated towards Muslims from the knuckle dragging section of the UK.
I just don't think that was one of the main reasons why people voted out of the EU. General hatred of foreigners was a reason not Muslims alone.

Millions of people believed that in order to stop millions of Muslims coming to this country we had to leave the EU as they were told that they were all coming into the EU, gaining citizenship in Germany and then they could all come over here. The problem is realistically I think if EU immigration drops then it will increase from these parts of the world. Which goes against what people thought they were voting for.
At least now the government can control immigration. It could limit the immigration of Muslims, though I doubt it will any time soon, tbh.
Well this is where the conversation started, my point was if eu immigration drops then it will increase from these parts of the world which my belief is that is not what many of those who voted for Brexit wanted. If u gave them the choice they would rather have an immigrant from Poland or Slovakia than someone from the Middle East or certain African countries.
