But at least we’ll be at the front of the queue for the overpriced drugs. :datass:

Hopefully we'd just legalise generics from India and drop the cost of drugs to pennies in retaliation.

We’ll have to or else we won’t be able to afford the chlorinated chicken.

Interesting article about the nationalist side and their response to Brexit and what it may lead to.

So, um, yeah, this happened yesterday and seemed to be lost under all the talk about "gammon"(?).

Isn't this a pretty big deal?

Holyrood refuses consent for Westminster Brexit bill

The Scottish Parliament has refused to give its consent to the UK's main piece of Brexit legislation.

The Scottish and UK governments are at odds over the EU Withdrawal Bill and what it could mean for devolved powers.

Labour, Green and Lib Dem MSPs united to back SNP members in rejecting the Westminster bill, saying it would restrict Holyrood's powers.

The Scottish Conservatives voted against, and have blamed the SNP for the failure to find an agreement.

MSPs voted by 93 to 30 that Holyrood "does not consent to the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill".

Westminster ultimately has the power to introduce the legislation without the consent of Holyrood - but it would be politically difficult, and has never been done before.

It is ish, I'm pretty sure Westminster can do it anyway and Scotland can pass as many " we dont like it" bills as they want it makes no difference however its good to have a group of politicians openly say "strawberry float off mate" as it needs someone to start that to get others to openly do it too.

It is not all that important, Westminster can overrule it and ignore everything the Scottish Parliament did.

It might be important down the line though, when going for another independence referendum the SNP will be able to point at the “Tory Westminster government ignoring the will of the Scottish Parliament and forcing us into a Tory hard Brexit against the wishes of the Scottish people”.

And on the plus side, the Scottish Parliament vote has probably burst a few more blood vessels in the faces of the English gammons. :slol:

I just don't know how to deal with this anymore. You're got the Tories fighting over 2 non-starter options, Gammon's empowered and sputtering everywhere, Corbyn waiting to lift his socialist paradise out of the ruins of Hard Brexit, Corbynites frothing at the amazing tactical moves Corbyn's making to get a soft Brexit

Just...I don't like reality anymore :(

I seem to remember people saying ages ago about it being more difficult to get isotope used in cancer treatments. I wonder is the ownership part referring to that as well as the obvious.

Pojeck faer Muggy!

Just makes me wonder how much money is going to be spent in leaving. According to the article, we need an IT system by the summer at the latest and experts to check material (recruitment is ongoing and it's not going smoothly).

Is anyone keeping a running tally of all the strawberry floating nonsense this government has to do now?

The list is as close to infinite as it is possible to be.

It might help if the government actually knew what it was trying to do. But 2 years on from the vote and 1 year after triggering Article 50, they still don’t even have a clue what Brexit even is. :slol:
