Member when £1 was $1.6? I member.

I was shocked at the price of a Snickers today at my local shop, 84p for something that looks about half the size of the Snickers of old!

I stopped buying sweets from newsagents ages ago. If it wasn't for topping up my Oyster card I doubt I'd ever go in one again. These smaller supermarkets have killed them dead for me.

Sill never been into a Londis though.

Why top up your oyster card? Just a contactless card or Android/iOS pay?

How dare Her Majesty's official opposition oppose anything! Highly irresponsible. Obviously the way to ensure the best result for the UK is to make sure the government is not held to account for any of its plans.

To be fair to her, the ruling government trying to per-emptively blame the opposition for their failures isn't a new tactic.

Won't a huge victory make that much harder though? If they get a huge majority they won't be able to point the finger at anyone in two years time. Their party brought about Brexit, their party negotiated leaving, their party is to blame for any damage. If they mess up particularly badly the other parties could be beating them with this stick for decades.

This pretty much forces the Conservative party into a single stance: "Brexit will be / Is brilliant" no matter what, this year and every other going forward. Any remain inclined Tories better get used to singing that tune or get off the ship because anything less will be to attack their own party.

There is absolutely no incentive for the EU to give the UK exactly what it wants. That's not bullying or picking on us, it's just what happens when you leave a union.

I'm sure the Tory hierarchy know that but they're in an impossible position. They have fully accepted Brexit, they know what that will mean but they also know they'll have to placate the hordes of Leave voters who were sold the lie that somehow we will be better off.

May's hope is that she wins big in the election and that they can somehow either make everyone believe it's all the EU's fault or that somehow they get decent trade deals before 2022. I'm betting that she'll just blame the EU for being bullies and that the masses will be pulled along with the nationalist anti-EU sentiment.

Yeah her and the mail etc. Will blame the EU for everything and idiots will go right along with it despite it taking a second of actual thought to see it's bollocks, but they won't want to admit they were wrong so will have to blame someone else.

At this point I'm hoping for the humiliation option. Same benefits of membership we have now like single market and freedom of movement, but we have to pay money and have no day in things whatsoever so that we can at least say we technically have left the EU.

Humiliating yes, but a damn sight better than the alternatives.

I think Dacre and Co would probably implode if we ended up keeping freedom of movement given they spent have their lives telling people about the invading hordes of Turks/Romanians/Syrians heading for us...

Doubt the 'WILL OF THE PEOPLE' would allow the government to end up in that situation though...

As the article says, it would just be following the terms of the Good Friday agreement. So no change to anything at all.

And people think Remain were "Project Fear".

Not sure we are ready.

In saying that, I think it would be a good thing and it's only a matter of time.
