I haven’t heard the call Photek was referring to, but I’ve heard JoB’s callers before and they really are that thick. I know people that are even worse. :lol:

That's a bit harsh, not all of them were thick. Some of them were racist as well.

And yes some of them were not thick and/or racist but voted out for some other reason that they have never really been able to explain other than as "sovereignty" or "British laws for British people".

Leave cannot be “reversed in time” as rejoining the EU at a later state would leave us in a far worse position than we currently have (the rebate, the Euro etc). There’s also no guarantee of being allowed to rejoin, any of the EU member states could veto it.

"We also have positive language around financial services and the prospect of Britain paying for market access."

Nomura currency strategist Jordan Rochester added: "I'm sceptical this [report] is necessarily a game-changer at this stage as there will also be member states pushing the other way."

The pound was almost flat against the euro at €1.1262 after the single currency hit a three-year high against the dollar following hopes that chancellor Angela Merkel would be able to form a coalition government in Germany.

"Sterling is benefiting from the dollar weakness and the growing euro strength rather any pound-specific factors, which if anything have been underwhelming this week," said Alvin Tan at Societe Generale.

Some traders are concerned that poor Christmas trading reported by several retailers this week was further evidence of a consumer slowdown as inflation erodes spending power.

Dollar is at a particular low at mo so no surprise.
Pound is still 15% less valuable since before Brexit afaik.

A second referendum should be called after a deal (or no deal) has been struck so people know what they are voting for. If you leave and want back in you have to adopt the Euro as moggy said.

True. It wouldn't surprised me if most of the PMs we have this side of the century spend their terms trying to get back into the EU under pressure from the next generation of voters and against opposition from EU states. Like the 70s all over again.

Nigel Farage has MEP salary docked to recoup misspent EU funds

Nigel Farage is being docked half his monthly MEP salary after a European parliament investigation alleged he had misspent public funds intended for staffing his office.

The former Ukip leader, who recently bemoaned being “53, separated and skint”, will lose €40,000 (£35,500) in total, the Guardian has learned, after European parliament auditors concluded he had misspent that amount of EU funds.

I meant we can reverse our decision of wanting to be in the EU or not; that was in response to CRD who said of the EU "once we leave we won't be going back".

At the moment we can reverse it. Once we have left we can’t.

Sure we might be able to rejoin, but there’s no guarantee of that and we would then be on worse terms. That isn’t a reversal as we would not ever get back the great deal we have at the moment.
