Portillo and Harriett Harmen tonight on This Week seem convinced we're going to end up paying something to the EU - if not the exit fee they're asking the equivalent of - for access to various things...and that it'll be hugely unpopular with the public.

TBF, it wasn't just about bananas why she voted leave. She just put her thoughts across in the most idiotic way.

Had a comment arguemnt with a leave voter this morning, he was complaining that the EU was bullying us, pushing us out of the EU and stealing fish from our water and because of that packs of Birds Eye fish fingers are shrinking.

It was one of the papers. I think The Sun

That was one of the two trade restriction reasons some people cited for voting out. The other being a ban on selling eggs in a dozen.

She didn't mention any other reasons though other than a vague "well it wasn't just the bananas".

I love that the result immediately after is a BBC article saying the EU aren't doing any such thing.

Bananas are curved so that they fit into our hand perfectly. This is clear evidence of God's Holy Hand™ at work in creation.

Bananas are curved because once into a while you want to pretend it's a gun and you're James Bond.

Aren't bananas naturally straighter? I'm sure I read somewhere that they're bred to be curved.
