If we end up with a better standard of living and an economy, it would end up being a good result. Wanting it to fail to prove some point at the cost of living standards doesn't make a lot of sense.
Okay, let me put it another way.
I don't think it can succeed. I would say hoping it will happen is like hoping for the moon on a stick.
I'm sure I'd be a lot happier if I could sprout wings and fly tomorrow, but wishing for it to happen isn't going to make it come true. To me this is honestly a similar question.
This is an absolute disaster. The only way this disaster gets better is if the people responsible are removed from power, and people who actually have responsibility for a actual good future for this country are installed.
