What he actually says is
'However, Mr Johnson says: “Once we have settled our accounts, we will take back control of roughly £350m per week.
“It would be a fine thing, as many of us have pointed out, if a lot of that money went on the NHS, provided we use that cash injection to modernise and make the most of new technology.” '

That's from the telegraph article.

That's very different from the hyperbolic version. It's clearly a gambit from Boris. I also think it's at least partly in response to the Rees Mogg rumours. He and his advisers/ supporters clearly felt it was an opportune time.
Interesting times.

The point isn't that he's offering money to the NHS (which I don't believe for a second) but that there isn't £350million to "take back control" of.

To look so scruffy wearing a suit AND tie I always think is quite the achievement.

The visual of Boris leaving Number 10 on the front of the Telegraph is not coincidental, I'm sure.

I'm not sure who I want as PM least Boris or Mogg.

On balance I'd probably say Boris is the least worse of the two options. Boris is an idiot, but Mogg is just openly evil.

Do they really believe we can get access to the single market without paying for it?

Yep. We can have our cake and eat it and they need us more than we need them.

The talk of Rees Mogg being leader has probably led to this. There's plots afoot methinks.

I think this could be bang on the money. I've always had the impression that he's been playing the long game.

A buffoon with major aspirations. Dangerous.

'Once we have settled our accounts' is the key part of that.

It gives a lot of leeway.
Boris - where's the 350 million?
Oh we're still coping with the immediate effects of brexit - we haven't settled our accounts yet.

It's quite a sneaky ploy. I like it.

The thing is Boris is a total lier at least Mogg can be trusted. That said Mogg's opinions are awful.

Having a leadership battle now though would be crazy.

It's not very sneaky. The £350m figure is a lie, there is no £350m before or after settling accounts.

He might as well say we'll get £200trillion and the moon.

It isn't even 350 million. So he's full of gooseberry fool in that regard.

No doubt but it's the timing and that he's saying anything is the key. What he's actually saying is irrelevant. Why he's saying it now is very interesting.

For you non Tories I imagine it's not but for me and my callous Ilk - it's interesting.

Power plays are always interesting. If he does make the move it will interesting to see if Mogg also stands and how it'll effect Brexit negotiations.

My guess is it'll all blow up in his face but we'll see.

You find a senior British politician telling outright lies to the general public, many of whom will believe what he is saying, interesting. And I presume you find it interesting because of how it all ties into the internal power struggle within the Conservative party.

strawberry float. Me.

The strawberry floating future of the country is at stake and you are sat wanking away over a possible Tory leadership campaign?
