Farage is always strawberry floating upset.

Knew I should've gotten foreign currency out before her speech, she doesn't have the capacity to make even a half decent argument.

I'll gauge the reaction of the key figures in here.

Maybe she thinks if she waits long enough she can quietly cancel brexit and go back to business as usual.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.

Having looked through the speech I actually don't think it was that bad. I mean, it was peppered with the usual bullshit phrases but i think May's made more concessions to the softer side of Brexit than a hard one.

Very far from great but could've been worse. Hopefully successive PM's keep kicking it into the long grass...

Maybe she thinks if we appear constructive and agreeable to the EU - they might want to do business.

Bearing in mind - I haven't seen it. I just read a catch up

I think it was a very poor attempt at appearing companiable. Like i say it could've been worse but I dont see it as much of an olive branch - more a begging bowl.

Farage's job is to be upset.

Made it as far as the part when she said about not the UK not feeling like a part of the EU. Turned it off. I can't strawberry floating listen to this woman anymore.

We had a collective rant at that point in the office at work.

Sacking Boris and Davis would have achieved similar results.

Surely if Farage is upset - she achieved something.

She will have pissed off most people though.

Leavers will be pissed off at the idea of an extra couple of years in transition and payments being made.

Remainers are pissed off because she’s pushing ahead with it and not throwing it out or at least compromising on EEA membership.

The EU will be pissed off because she didn’t really clarify anything that the UK actually wants.

Her position as PM is tottering so badly she’s trying to avoid annoying people but is actually annoying everyone because of it.

Set out what you are actually going for and then just strawberry floating go for it. The current situation is strawberry floating laughable.

Moody's has downgraded the UK's credit rating tonight. It's still a good rating, but still disappointing obviously. Blaming "economic uncertainty" over the coming months and years.

Moggy as you point it out there it's impossible to keep everyone happy. Throw it out - cmon.

She's not given into the more rabid leavers and is giving the EU some concrete caveats. It's a start - not the one you want but it never was going to be. She has clearly listened to the disparate members of her cabinet and they have compromised accordingly.

The EU negotiator, the Irish president are a little more confident and the rabid leavers and Farage are furious. For the remain lot - it's at least an attempt at securing a deal and in a less bullish and arrogant way.

I'm happier than I was but if you think the transition period is so delay after delay will eventually lead to a rethink or no Brexit.
Sorry but it's not happening that way.

That's my thinking too. A transition/extended delay might help Conservatives with damage control during the next election too if Brexit and its effects haven't fully unfolded by then, because if the economy really suffers post-Brexit, they're strawberry floated.

We've not just blinked first, we've shut our eyes, turned away and buried our face in our hands. Appalling capitulation....

So ' Brexit Means Brexit' does it Mrs May? Only if it has been rewritten by Hammond & the rest of the arch Remainers that is! 'No Deal Is Better Than A Bad Deal'? If this is TM ''s idea of a good deal then we really haven't got a prayer! EU negotiations have been a cat & mouse game from the start & Mrs May is very much the timid mouse in front of a predatory EU cat. This speech to kick start trade talks is a surrender & a capitulation which shows desperation & an absence of strategy. TM has betrayed Brexit & has forfeited the right to any trust or respect. Shameful!

Project Betrayal has been in operation since the referendum results were announced.
It's been 15 months since then and they are still faffing about.

If May really meant Brexit means Brexit, we would have Jacob Rees Mogg, with Farage and Daniel Hannan as consultants, in charge of negotiations.
It would be all over by Christmas.

Just take the WTO arrangements. They're good enough for most of the EU's 10 major trading partners (China, USA, Japan, Russia etc.). The GBP is already 15% undervalued. Seeing out the EU budget period for £18bn is sensible. Perhaps the £8bn of pensions too. After that, the EU Commission can look for their £100bn elsewhere.

When the EU project collapses and the chaos creates much fear among the population of europe. At least her majesty's government can say they tried their best from to the beginning till the end to limit its impact. What ever happens, this is all on those co--upted politicians in Brussels. And not democracy.

Remember the BS before the EU Referendum when Drunkard and Co said ''Just go,we don't need you''. They haven't stopped crying ever since. What mugs decided it was a good idea to trade goods and 'migrants'? Government figures suggest we have 3.2 million living here. Remember that's 'government figures, so you can double that. Lets be frank, you can't move without hearing a e a s t European.
