I've just read that completing the game unlocks something.

(Non-story spoiler.)
In a throwback to the complaints about the original game at launch, completing the game unlocks cinematic letterboxing mode, with the delightfully sarcastic message:
"You've unlocked the ultimate reward: A more cinematic game experience!"

Very TLoU isn't it.

Combat is tough, pays to avoid enemies atm, I'm on chapter 3, much more expansive than last time, and more NPC's which i like.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

I did quite like the first game, despite my aversion to survival horror games. I got this game for just £25.99 (PC, Steam) from cdkeys.com, including DLC. Compared to the frankly ridiculous (and insulting) £49.99 Playstation are asking for the digital download, I thought that was quite reasonable. I mean, that's quite literally twice as much. I don't understand why there is such a huge price disparity and I've never heard an explanation for this kind of thing that I can believe.

Have you got the shotgun? It makes combat a lot easier.

Sebsastian is such an arsehole, though. I mean, I really don't like him at all. Right from the start, he's a total pr*ck and HE'S ALWAYS SHOUTING.

When Kidman knocks him out with an injection, telling him she doesn't have time for his bullsh*t, I'm quite grateful for her intervention.

:slol: make sure you set what weapons you have to the d-pad so you don't have to keep opening the item wheel with LB. Tip on the shotgun do the side quest looking gkr the Mobius signak rather than looking for the signal with the girls voice and you should come across the shotgun.

It doesn't matter if you can't get to grips with changing weapons with the d-pad, since opening the weapon wheel pauses the action entirely, unlike the first game.

Got the shotty. Aiming still a bit off. But id expect it. The exploring is great. You could easily charge straight for the main objective. But theres so much stuff youd midd if you didnt explore. Reminds a bit of state of decay. Looting houses and discovering gooseberry fool.

I'm up to chapter 12 or 13 I think roughly around 8-9 hours playtime. Personally I think it's better than the first game but I have been playing it on dirty casual as I'm trying to just speed my way through it and Shadow Of War before Mario Odyssey arrives.

Also used a trainee to give myself lots of components and weapon parts :shifty:

Brerlappin wrote:I think ive finally realized what is really putting me off the combat. I'm at ch 12 now, and I still only have a choice of pistol or shotgun (and crossbow too obvs), but theres no mid range assault rifle like the sub machine gun from TEW1. So I'm still trying to mostly take out these fast moving enemies with a shitty pistol, and saving shotgun rounds for larger enemies. This would be a lot more enjoyable if it had a full auto weapon so I'm not constantly struggling to line up headshots.

As much as it pains me to say it, as a TEW fanboy, but the combat in the game is just... bad. Of all the things they could have got wrong I really didn't think combat would be one of them, but they really did make an ass of it. And there really hasn't been any big, memorable shoot out moments either. Even the cabin defense bit was relatively weak.

TEW2 is definitely a good game, but the more I play it, the more it just makes me wish I was playing TEW1

Couldn't agree more. There's a slightly faster pace to combat here that makes it feel messier. It could get frantic in the first game, but you could also be careful and methodical – backing off, lining up shots, setting traps when you had the room etc. It just doesn't feel as good here.

Chapter 4 now. Its strawberry floating difficult. The upgraded enemies. :x Especially those quick moving banana splits.

Love the shotgun mind.

Finished, watching the credits now. Preferred it to the first game and really enjoyed it even though I wanted to rush through it as a cheating bastard before getting Mario during the next week. Even enjoyed the story, go figure.

Look forward to the 3rd game now after the end credits scene :toot:

The game felt underwhelming to me. Ammo-starving the player on higher difficulty is not my idea of challenging gameplay, but maybe that's just me.
