Ridiculously unlucky for Hamilton, having to do 3 restarts at a race where the punishment for them is incredibly severe, being rammed by Vettel for nothing resulting in damage to his car and then the headrest coming loose. Thought the 10 second stop go penalty for Vettel was probably about right (not sure what comparable actions have got).

People really forget how much of a baby Vettel is when in the car, his nice funny family guy demeanour when out and about is charming and all, but on the track he's been involved in so many instances where he just comes across like a spoilt prick.

Edit:

Happy for Ricciardo though, he's my favourite driver, just wish he had a constantly competitive car.

Fair enough! To be fair it wasn't even his idea this time.

Yeh Hamilton has every right to be properly strawberry floated off, the fallout could be tasty.

I'm a bit behind, just finished. Overall that was a great race. Does Vettel even realise what he did wrong yet? so unlucky for Hamilton and Stroll there. The ten second penalty seems a bit light as Vettel clearly intentionally drove into Lewis.

Also how lucky was Bottas to get back to second after being last and a lap behind everyone at one point.

Edit I've just read the quotes from Vettel in his post race interviews, I don't vettel still understands why he was given the penalty.

That's my take on it too, he thinks he got the penalty for running into the back of Hamilton. He's either being stupid or obtuse!

3 penalty points - if he gets one more penalty like that he misses a race.

Yep. I probably should've specified that.

What an entertaining race. Shame we have to rely on crashes, debris and other incidents for that to happen, but entertaining nonetheless.

Vettel
Hamilton

Good to see Ricciardo win, always rooting for both of the Red Bulls, shame they're off the pace generally. Good to see Bottas climb his way up too, and I can't remember the last time I saw a position change on the line like that. Shame Stroll couldn't hang on for 2nd, but 3rd was a brilliant result for him.

Vettel really doesn't give a gooseberry fool about driver safety or any kind of sportsmanship.

The AzerbaijanGP averaged 2.6m viewers and peaked with 3.2m on C4 (higher than in 2016)

Amazing the difference an exciting race can make.

Vettel could face further action over driving into Hamilton

Here's hoping...

I've read several places that the car data showed that Hamilton did not slow down and that Vettel accelerated into him however i don't know if that data has actually been released.

I wonder if Vettel realises yet that he got the penalty for driving into the side of Hamilton and not the rear yet.

If the tribunal takes no action, they shouldn't have bothered going ahead with it

Will be very interesting to see what happens here. "Further action" would surely instantly warrant a race ban (any further points before Austria do) unless they increase the time penalty and add it to his time for the previous GP which would be odd.

Can they force him to start from the back of the grid in the next race?
