Well even Nico said he couldn't go again as 2016 took so much out of him.

Vettel has had a poor year on the track this season. He has turned into the crash kid again when going wheel to wheel and has lost his head too many times. I wonder if that is a symptom of having won so many titles in a dominant car, and now he doesn't have the experience of wheel to wheel that Hamilton and Alonso have.

It will be fascinating to see McLaren with the Renault engine next year as generally they seem to have a cracking chassis. You also have to wonder if Renault will give them the star treatment after so many seasons being abused by RBR.

Let's hope so. Alonso needs to be at the sharp end. His battles with Vettel and Hamilton were really good.

I don't think it is lack of experience, just frustration. If you think you are the best driver but don't have an equal car to compete, it must be difficult. Although that doesn't make it right and there should be punishments.

Disappointed to see Hamilton win another title. Shame that Ferrari couldn't come out on top or even sustain the challenge, but nevermind. Next year I'd like more than one or two guys to actually be in with a chance of winning for a change - would love to see Max in contention, and/or Ricciardo. Would be great if McLaren could at least be in the mix as well, although that seems unlikely given the issues they've had. Don't know what the new engine will do though.

Love Hamilton. Well done to him and here's to many more. He's British and I love the fact he's dominating F1 at the moment. So much salty out there for him

As good as Hamilton certainly is I would never put him in the top echelon of drivers. For the simple reason that the likes of Schumacher would never in a million years let their team mate beat them like Nico did last season.

As Tony Kanaan said, he came 2nd in a 2 car championship.

Schumacher in his glory years at Ferrari had a contractually obligated subservient team mate and bespoke tyres to give him an unfair advantage.

And Hamilton had a decent driver as a team mate (probably on the same level as Barrichello) with a massive car advantage over the rest of the field annnnd didn't win the championship.

His engine failure cost him the points that would have won him that championship.

Can't stand Hamilton. He is a good driver but shouldn't be allowed to talk or post gooseberry fool. I'd pretty much rather see anyone other than him win

Likewise Schumacher lost a championship due to engine failure, going into the last race 10 points behind Alonso.

That's technically correct but I don't think that's the reason Hamilton is so bitter towards Rosberg. It's the the thought of races like Monza last year where Hamilton was the fastest driver all weekend but handed Rosberg an easy win by making a complete balls of his start that must tear him up inside. He should have won the championship in 2016 and he knows that.



I like Hamilton as a driver but his comments towards Rosberg yesterday weren't great. He has been fantastic phenomenal since the turn of the season to close out the title the way he has and he deserves nothing but praise for the way he has bounced back this season.

He is easily the best in the field and probably of his generation. Pretty much agree with everyone else that outside of the racing he comes across as quite unlikeable, but he clearly tries hard to be liked. I actually wonder if he has some kind of social fear or issue as he comes across as really cringeworthy.
