Second contact was definitely Vettel's fault, took his hands off the damn wheel.

Vettel needs a DQ for that.

Don't blame the drivers at all really.

The Race 'Directors' are dicking about trying to make it more entertaining, neither of those incidents needed a safety car. They knew the race was over in terms of the top positions so they strawberry floated about trying to get interest by mashing everyone together again. Hamilton aced the first restart, was amazing to see. The second safety car was a joke, absolutely no need for it, could easily have been covered by a VSC. Add to that the SC is going way to slow for the F1 cars and you get this crazy bunching up. The dramatic slow down from Hamilton didn't help matters but Vettel ramming him is a bloody joke as well.

Now they've got this strawberry floated up situation. Too much meddling in the sport is the problem with F1, this is just a perfect example of it.

Vettel has to be black flagged for that, surely? Deliberate dangerous driving just can't be shown as acceptable.

I don't think Hamilton braked. He just didn't put his foot down as he was leaving a gap to the safety car and Vettel was too eager to defend from the Williams.

Bit annoyed it hasnt come to fisticuffs though. Been a good 20 years since the last pit lane fight.

Liberty Media will be adding that for 2018, nascar style.

I agree they probably could have managed with a virtual safety car instead of a second full safety car but I'm sorry, it's conspiracy nonsense to say they're doing it on purpose in order to engineer entertainment. Making these decisions in real time must be pretty difficult, especially as they have a whole lot more information than we do.

Re Hamilton and Vettel, doesn't look like Hamilton braked to me, Vettel was very stupid and should get a penalty. When Maldonado did this in qualifying a few years ago he only got given a 5 place grid penalty so Vettel might not get a big penalty, we'll see!

He simply has to pit if that can't fix itself
