If the track layout is as good as Baku then bring it on.

Makes sense that they'd try and expand the US market. Can't wait for the anthem, flyovers and dancers before the race.

First look at the possible layout, and here's a look at how the first race would likely pan out once Max Verstappen got stuck in...

those speeds across the water will be mental if the race does go ahead and would be a more interesting race and track then COTA which i find a rubbish track

COTA is generally ok, but it was spoiled when the FIA demanded that the latter part of the esses be tightened up so as to slow the cars down.

Fiancé gave me this last night to hang on the wall. I demonstrated my gratitude by forcing her to learn the names of all the corners.

Edit: Just realised I’ve taken the photo in a rush with the track upside down (and therefore backwards) shall fix that later...

Upside down it looks like a gun.

You could use it to rob a bank.

The new McLaren nose certainly is unique.

I saw a Ferrari mock-up of that halo-mounted mirror solution a week or so ago, but it didn't have that upper element. From being allowed 20mm of clearance on the halo for aero fairings to now allowing mirrors and other large elements. FIA... :fp:

The 2017 ones were stunning. The 2018 ones are, just from one angle though, low down and looking at the rear end

Those Halo mounted wing mirrors are awful, as is the McLaren's new nose. At least Ferrari have got them mounted in the exact same space for cooling purposes, just off the Halo rather than the cockpit.

...and those which aren't have still found themselves being Tilke-fied.

Spain now has a crappy chicane at the end of the lap, Silverstone has that terrible infield section, Hockenheim was butchered beyond all recognition, and Mexico's once challenging esses ended up being turned into a sea of tarmac.

The old Spain layout was fine yet only bikes use that layout now. Spain has been butchered over the last couple of years. Then there is SPA a great track then once they began the changes to the old Bus Stop the track has become more boring lost so much of its character and slowly becoming a sea of tarmac all the challenging corners have been made easy.

I personally hate tarmac runoffs, they fail to punish drivers who make mistakes (people used to get beached in gravel traps all the time which made races more unpredictable thanks to there being more DNF's), and in some instances i think they are more dangerous.

Could they possibly implement some kind electronic slowdown for cars if they go onto the runoffs? This would act as a quasi gravel trap without the tyres getting all buggered with gravel.

Does anyone think Formula E style fan boosts will ever be implemented?
Maybe they could limit it to only people outside the top 10 at the time to try and shake things up slightly or is that just a terrible idea?

I hope not, the last thing F1 needs these days is yet another gimmick.
