Personally I never actually bet on any sport, nevermind Motorsport where all it could take is a drivers engine to breakdown to potentially lose a decent amount of money.

Saying that haven't Sky always allowed you to bet on F1 anyway? What does this announcement actually mean? More companies will be able to take F1 (and other series down the line) bets?

Seems pretty pointless, as although you'd get great odds on Lance Stroll winning the race, there ain't a hope in hell that it would ever happen.

Looking forward to seeing Ray Winston crammed in to a F1 car during the ad breaks.

Presumably they'll be more creative with the options than just betting on the winner. Fastest lap, most overtakes, number of safety cars, in race betting (X to overtake Y within Z laps), there's all sorts they could do! People love that sort of gooseberry fool to be fair, it's a big market.

On the rumour mill & according to Joe Saward, David Croft is going to be sacked by Sky Sports. Brundle will move to lead commentator and Webber will join as co-commentator.

Brundle did quite well as lead commentator last time he did it, I guess he has been out of the sport long enough that it needs someone fresher as the colour commentator.

Brundle was a superb choice when ITV first took him on. He has improved to the point that he really should be the voice of the sport in the way Murray Walker has been.

Sucks for Crofty. I actually quite liked him as he has a good voice. But the dynamic needs to change and I think Webber could be a good choice to keep even the most boring race exciting.

The commentary this year hasn't been so great with Crofty and Brundle both getting a bit too negative during some of the duller races. Their job is partly to sell the sport to the viewer.

Brundle was great when he was partnered with DC, shame the crappy TV deals that followed spoiled things.

Apparently some light showers in and around the circuit so we could have some drama... oh who am I kidding? Hamilton will no doubt pass Bottas by lap 5 and cruise to victory.

Really isn't disappointing to no longer have access to the races on terrestrial TV. I think that in the next 5 years I'll have zero interest in the "sport".

Yes?

Well, barring Max and the opening few laps this race was as dull as dishwater. I really hope the changes being fast tracked for 2019 actually help promote overtaking.

Got to feel for Bottas as well, lost out on challenging for the win due to team orders for a championship Hamilton and Mercedes had pretty much already got covered.

Always a shame for a race to be decided by team orders, I feel bad for Bottas, but it was the right decision from Merc. At least there was a bit of on track action between Hamilton and Vettel.
