Should see it plenty during the season, although I'd guess it'll be mainly used at street circuits.

I expect that'll only be used a handful of times, I'd guess Silverstone and Suzuka at least as they're high speed meaning high load on the tyre's.

Been seeing reports on how much quicker the Mercedes could be in regards to race pace to the rest of the field this year, auto motor und sport seem to think Mercedes might be in the region of 1 second quicker per lap than the likes of Ferrari and Red Bull. If this is true it'll be like going back to 2014-16 :( just hope Bottas can put up a WDC challenge if this is the case.

Sorry it's in German but if you use Chrome you can just translate it easily enough.

Seems like McLaren have been a bit too ambitious on the packaging front to aid the aero of the car. Hopefully it won't need a huge redesign to solve their issues but rather just a few small changes.

Well that's just rubbish, it was bad enough as a one off never mind a constant thing throughout the season.

I dread to think how long before they introduce something like The Chase in from Nascar or made up safety car periods to "spice up" the show then have corners where the commentators say its the DHL Hairpin or "The Rolex Rascasse" or "Heineken La Source"

I got an absolute treat at work today :D

On my department I've got a friend who knows I'm kind of addicted to F1, he happens to have a friend who works at Castrol in some capacity. Last year he was giving out free t-shirts and my friend managed to grab me one (Renault Sport related, looks like a promo t-shirt of sorts), said I was properly into my F1 and this friend of a friend said he'd pass along anything else I might like as he gets freebies (guessing mainly from the previous season). My friend dropped me a message yesterday saying how he'd had something else passed his way that he was going to pass onto myself as he thought I'd appreciate it more, I wasn't expecting what you see below :D

It more or less made my day, it's stunning to look at and I was gobsmacked by the generosity of my friend and his friend. I'm planning on getting a stand of sorts to display it on with a few Led's underneath to light it up at night, not sure if to go for white ones or yellowy ones with it being the R.S.17.

Thought you might all like to see it anyway :)

I did offer to pay a little bit for it but apparently they aren't allowed to accept any money for them. Just need to find somewhere nice to display it now.

I'm amazed the parabolica still exists, it could have easily ended up being Tilke'fied by turning into a chicane/hairpin combo with huge concrete runoffs (painted red/white/green) like at abu dhabi.

Indeed, especially as it's basically a mirror image of the former tambourello corner :dread:
