Kind of looks like a slightly developed 09 spec front wing doesn't it?

Whatever though, if it improves the racing and they don't have a huge loss of downforce then it's a win win in my opinion.

Seems Force India and a couple of others will be trialling the 2019-spec front wings at testing this week.

Erm, call me stupid if you like but this doesn't really tell us anything without a 2018 front wing next to it to compare with.

It looks completely different

This year's Ferrari is on the left, new wing is far less complicated;

A few shots of the '19 wing fitted to the cars.

Red Bull isn't a true '19-spec wing, but should give some relevant data.

Renault probably seems the most probable, although I suppose he was linked with McLaren a short while back (well McLaren were rumoured to be throwing money his way hoping to lure him), outside bet still on Ferrari as they're yet to confirm Kimi yet. Can't see it being any other than these 3. Reckon Sainz will be getting promoted to Red Bull for at least one season, they might think Gasly isn't quite ready yet.

If it is Renault, a Hulkenberg/Ricciardo partnership seems very strong, Renault seem to be heading overall in the right direction as well although Honda also are so Red Bull could easily be up there next year with the Honda (even if its not quite on par with the others).

Imagine if Alonso ended up at red bull with that Honda engine

Well at least he'd be in a better chassis.

I hope Renault are sandbagging their engine development since Red Bull confirmed the split to prevent Honda getting even more data, so there is a big jump next season. For Ric's sake.

Seems a bit of a mad move, but Ham from McLaren to Mercedes did too and look how that turned out.

Yeah it does seem like a sideways/backwards move but as you said maybe he's been given some info that's got him on board.

Confirmed by Renault anyway, https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/rena ... l/3153206/

Hyped for that Hulk vs Ric battle already.

Renault always come good. Alonso did win back to back championships with them after all.

Interesting move from Ricciardo. Hopefully it means they've shown him something which has given him confidence in their ability to improve further. Hulkenberg and Ricciardo should be a pretty strong team.

Renault is probably the best alternative for Ricciardo, at least they look to be up and coming unlike McLaren.

Sainz should have the Red Bull seat, but i suspect he may well be passed over in favour of Gasly.

Perhaps it's like when Hamilton joined Mercedes, not massively competitive at the time, but came good not long after.

Only reason I can see for Sainz being passed over instead of Gasly is that I recall Sainz and Verstappen didn't have the best relationship at Toro Rosso and Red Bull may be wary of upsetting Verstappen and may opt for Gasky instead.

Glad he's doing ok, him needing it was almost certainly caused by an issue connected to the accident in '76.

One thing this vid shows the intensity of a battle to pass each other.

It also demonstrates just how good the old pre-94 silverstone layout was.
