It's an okay idea, but it really needs to be streamlined. That blue glow is terrible and covers more than the halo and as a result the speed counter is in a stupid position, the brake/throttle meters are huge and we don't need such large writing beneath the RPM meter. As it is now it just screams gimmick like the HUD in Formula E and only serves to cheapen the sport.

I've given up trying to understand some of the current fashion trends. :dread:

Yes I do agree with the fact it would benefit from some refinement, they could easily fit all of required info in the confines of the halo. As an idea though I think it's good, it covers up the halo for the on board shots (which I think is by far the worst angle of the halo) which was a big criticism of it in the first practice session of 2018. I've not watched any Formula E recently so can't really remember what its HUD looks like.

Why does it darken the entire screen when the HUD comes up? I can see slight comparisons with both versions taking up a lot of screen space though.

Quite looking forward to the race. I know a lot of fans give Baku gooseberry fool with the memes and it being a street circuit, but I've genuinely enjoyed each race so far.

Hope Kimi gets a good start, was disappointing to see how he binned that awesome final qualifying lap.

I'll be watching the race when I finish work, currently sat watching the channel 4 pre race stuff having my break. Hope it's a good race, Baku has had good races both times we've been here so I'm hopeful.

Baku has the James bond theme for it's anthem

Wind looks mental so there should be lots and lots of mistakes

Is this another circuit where overtaking is nigh on impossible?

Not so much, it's got some serious braking zones so coupled with the wind and the amount of locking up being done in qualifying means there could be some great action today

How the strawberry float did Alonso jockey a 2 wheeled car back to the pits?

He's far too good for the current McLaren.

Renault looking good at this stage.

Edit: and of course as soon as I say that Hulk snaps into the wall. :(

Not very often you get the sensation of speed watching on tv but the speeds going into turn one with DRS closing are ridiculous.
