Mark Webber made it clear in his book, you don't upset Marko under any circumstance.

When I was watching this yesterday I thought Max should have been seen as making 2 moves but the commentary suggested it was mainly Ricardo's fault.

I think that team orders definitely makes sense, Ricardo was going faster so zero point in allowing Max to hold him up.

No to team orders, i've never liked them, and it's good to have team mates racing even if it sometimes ends in tears...

In regards to Lewis, his lucky win reminds me of Jacques Villeneuve, most of Villeneuve's 1997 wins came not from him being the fastest, but by simply inheriting 1st place after everyone else hit trouble.

I'm kind of so so on team orders, in situations such as those we saw yesterday they definitely make sense. You could see them both taking more and more risks that a crash was almost certain to happen at some point and because of it they lost 22 points for the team. Likewise if the drivers are on completely different strategies then it makes sense to not hold each other up too much. Towards the end of the season if only one of your drivers is contention for the WDC then it's understandable as well.

If it's just to needlessly switch a driver round for not much gains then no, I say let them race. More fun for us at least.

I don't even follow f1 but had this on my smart speaker to test that out (DB radio seems to have been recently added to google home) while doing some woodwork and it sounded strawberry floating mental towards the end of the race. The guy crashing behind the safety car not even at full speed, what a balls up.

The guy who did that used to be known as the first lap nutcase.

From 2019 the front wings will be simpler and the DRS slot will be larger to try and improve overtaking. I've always thought the current DRS was one thing that didn't need changing actually, it puts the driver in contention for a move (if powered by the same engine, some still get passed easily on the straights with DRS) but they have to get it completed themselves. Making it more powerful could make it a little comical, hopefully not though.

The DRS worked well at Baku, i think the overtaking issue at the moment is down to some of the circuits having poor layouts which can sometimes discourage passing.

Meanwhile on youtube...

First full race i watched was the 1991 Brazilian GP, though before that i did see the end of Australia 1990, and i did see the Suzuka 1990 start crash.

I saw Senna's crash live but I was too young to remember it. I was born in 1992 but as far as I know I've just kinda always watched F1.

I remember watching the '92 British GP, it's a very rare and a very special thing to see so much support aimed at a single driver.

Mansell mania peaked that day, and it was a level of fandom that has since only been seen at Hockenheim in 1995, and on the odd occasion when a Ferrari wins at Monza.

Lewis may be the most successful british driver now, but he's never gathered the kind of support that 'our Nige' had.

I don't know, he gets the entire out straight packed and crowd surfs for about 10 minutes.

I was born in 1992 as well so I'd have been about 2 months when Senna and Ratzenburger sadly died, didn't start watching F1 until 2009 and I've been hooked since
