Had a proper argument years ago with some daft lassie from school who actually had kids who thought it was okay to share a picture of a baby being strangled because it was raising awareness. No link or info on what to look out for in signs of abuse or where to go if you suspect it. Just a graphic picture telling us this baby died or something. Awful, fake or not. Even confronting her suggesting that if her kids were abused by anyone, would she be happy for the world to share pictures of their lifeless bodies on Facebook, still absolutely not budging from ‘its raisin awareness hun xx’

People create these things to feel better about themselves; their "good deed" for the day. Social media is a platform for self-promotion and expression, regardless of whether anyone is listening or paying attention.
