Does anybody else have "friends" that seek out random women they don't know, just to post embarrassing comments?

I just saw this:

"Used in everyday Scottish language"

Never heard of it before

Edit: thats a lie - it might have been used in this context...

Racist stereotype accent of a haggard old Irish woman telling her son sean that his dinner is ready

"SHAN! YER DINNERS READY, SHAN!"

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

Growing up in Carlisle, Shan was one of the words we young kids would often use in reference to unfairness or perceived injustice. While it might be Scottish in origin, it did cross the border.

I've heard shanner, as in "That car is an absolute shanner" but it tends to stop being in use once it passes the povvo line(I grew up partly in a gooseberry fool area).

I read it a lot on Pie and Bovril. Mainly from Morton fans. That possibly explains it...

Wait, is shan not used all over Scotland?

What with this and my rampant use of swearing, this place sometimes makes me wonder if my upbringing was as middle class as I generally thought.

I would start with "Haha" and move on from there. For me the best thing about that message is they can't even spell "Kumbaya"
