My long-deactivated facebook account was re-activated over the weekend by someone in Japan. Went back on and wiped EVERYTHING from it, friends, pictures, bio etc so moving forward if it gets re-activated again they can just carry on and use it, not bothered.

Cue me going for a job interview in a few years and being asked to leave because my facebook page is full of goatse images

Why not just delete it? It'll deactivate, then after 30 days (I think) of no login it will get permanently deleted.

The option is hidden away deeper than deactivation but it's there.
