Might the BBC have cut the naked? They did that with Melissa George in Hunted. Quite why, god only knows.

Watching episode 2, pretty sure I recognized Roose Bolton as one of the cops. Barristan Selmy was definitely the superior officer.

If anyone else hasn't got around to watching this, it's up on US Netflix now. Finally gonna start it tonight.

If the season is only five episodes, then yes.

Not all of it has been aired on BBC 2 yet. I think 3 episodes have.

It's definitely all of them. I think it might be Netflix exclusive in America and I'm guessing part of the deal was that all five had to go up at the same time.

Good episode with the usual creepiness but wasn't keen on "oh yeah my mate got strangled" being the breakthrough.

My thoughts - spoilers for the complete series (watched on Netflix)

Can't help but feel that it's a bit of a shame he didn't get caught - when he royally strawberry floated up I felt like the pacing increased to a point where it appeared as though they'd track him down. When a series leaves it hanging in such a way it can't help but feel like an incomplete arc, I suppose...

Plus, while I understand her motivations (pregnant etc), does anyone else not buy that his wife wouldn't turn him in as a paedophile...? It's surely a much bigger deal than just a typical affair. Plus, one of the reasons he convinced her not to turn him in was to save her job, but then convinced her to move away anyway...while I like a cliffhanger ending it just felt to me like within the context of a standalone season, the story was incomplete.

That said I feel the show's premise hangs on the dual narration and seeing it from the killer's perspective - he's no doubt an interesting character and the (somewhat heavy-handed) hints at his backstory were quite intruiging. It almost feels to me as though they changed the ending with the hope it would get re-commissioned for a second series. Plus the whole killer/police on the phone is a really worn-out trope now...

Overall I enjoyed the series (as much as you can enjoy such a grim program anyway...), but maybe it'd have been better as a 5/6-part one off rather than something they can continue?

The two lead actors were excellent, too.

Good finale but disappointed they didn't catch him. More for storyline reasons as both lead actors were excellent and will welcome their return in the 2nd series. Overall a nice middle ground between the usual short UK show and a lengthy US show.
