I love you glowy, but I also loved all that rubbish that 'it wont be McCleish' and 'I'm in the know about who we're getting'

Did you want me to admit it then  ..... Why does fergie love him so much?

He played under Fergie at Aberdeen. Also Fergie seems to be a mentor for all of the Scottish managers in the Prem. Except Kenny :shifty:

He has fergies blessing. Thats good enough for me. he best not lose his first strawberry floating game though

I hope you guys face Birmingham in the Carling cup or FA Cup atleast. Hope Birmingham get promoted soon too. Can't wait for the riots.

There would be riots. I dont want that, my mate went to the sty when they knocked us out in december, it was the scariest day of his life apparently. Don't want that, Id prefer if they strawberry floated off into league 1

The Villa board. :fp:

Hiring McLeish seems like the most non-sensical idea ever. He's a manager who has spent poorly, plays boring football and got his new club's rivals relegated. Now he's essentially got to rebuild a side which makes you wonder if it's possible for him to bring in worse players than Dunne, Heskey and Carew because I'm sure he'll try to. Villa have got to be up there with Newcastle now in terms of being a joke of a club.

Sorry Glowy :(

Whoever decided on the fixtures obviously doesn't like Bolton that much. They've got to play Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea in their first 7 games.

Not a bad start for us. Hopefully we can have a repeat of the last time we played Wolves at Home on the opening day. 8-)

If they really didn't speak to McLaren because of fan backlash then appointing McLeish is mental.

Indeed, this season we've got a manager for the whole pre-season, and he'll undoubtedly make some shrewd signings too.

Easily back into the top 16. 8-)

I guess I'll have to support him now, but he's going to be under immense pressure from the start.

At least we can get you out the way early. I'll probably go to the game too as I have the weekend booked off work. We'll probably get drawn to you in the League Cup at Villa Park. We also have you in the pre-season game in the Premier League Asia Trophy. :fp:

Sunderland - Newcastle in the second weekend of the season.

I'm really excited that Sunderland are away at Swansea in August. I'm probably going to be in Swansea in August, I haven't been to a Sunderland game for far too long!

No. I'm a Celtic fan.

I'm not the type to hate a manager or a player that has previously managed or played for our bitter rivals. Alex McLeish is a legend in my own eyes because he helped us to beat the frogs in their own backyard.

The sight of David Tezueget choking back his tears after McFaddy scored that goal, especially after that froggy dismissed us in the press. Is strawberry floating worth it.

And the rangers fans hated him cos of his history with Aberdeen (well the fans I knew personally) and he has won them over. I hope that he have a decent run at the start of the season, as I would hate the idiots who will go up in arms and say that he isn't the right man for the job. I hope that he is given time, build his own team and success will follow soon after.

Look at Alex Ferguson... He was almost sacked then he went on to be one of Man Utd's greatest managers... Cos he was given a plenty of time.

Sorry Glowy :(

Hang on, this time last year Dunne was after having an exceptional first season at Villa after 5 or so very good seasons at City. Just because Houllier couldnt manage him doesn't make him a bad player.

Just realised Martinez (and Wigan...) is the first home game of the season, I predict a mixed reception for the lad.
