Yeah first half Barca just completely controlled the game then second half Leverkusen just took it to them and tried to have a go. I thought they were back in it but that chance hit the post. Brilliant set up by Alves for Messi's goal though.

Looking forward to tonight's game though simply because I really cannot split the two sides. Should be a good game. There's a lot hype around El Shaarawy so it'll be interesting to see if he plays. With him, Robinho to a degree and Pato, they do have options for pace upfront. I wonder which Ibrahimabitch will turn up tonight though. The sublime or the frustrating one.

Couldn't miss Shelvey at one point, once he took his hat off he was a like a beacon on the field!

Do you have a link to a larger image? Can't quite make it out.

I'll try and get you a bigger one next time.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Judging by what I've seen of him in the CL, the invisible one.

Better than being a no-season wonder like the other 16 teams in the Premier League who haven't won(title results of this season pending), eh Denny? ;)

Blackburn, along with Everton and Villa are the only clubs in history to be founding members of both the original Football League and Premier League.

Imagine only winning the English Premier League once. Once. I'm not sure I could support a team that bad.

But imagine supporting a team that had never won the league, and then one season they did.

Take FC Twente fans for example. The emotions felt by their fans for the first time they won the league must surpass the emotions felt by fans of teams that always win the league.

I know. How dare he hold out for as much money as he can get! I'm sure United Group's evaluation of the land is fair and so serves him right if a private business now colludes with the local government to steal his property off him. Whadda banana split.

It's going to be a good game, I'm confident that The Ox will make the most of the occasion ala Bale last year. Hopefully Henry has a little more than a cameo for his final game but it's been clear he doesn't at all have the legs that he once did. But still, he's done very well for us in such a short time

If he can dupe United fans into paying him £250 then fair play.

Can a private company take the land of another private company? – yes if they are billionaires. Or at least they may try!

We have been on our land since 1987. We bought it when nobody wanted it. Since then there has been talk of the Olympics, then the Commonwealth games came, then talk of the Super casino. We have been approached by ‘everyman and his dog’ about selling our land.

Now the richest football club in the World want to buy it – no problem everything is for sale!

But there is a problem – they only want to buy it based on their valuation. A piece of scruffy land in East Manchester in the middle of a recession – shouldn’t cost much should it?

Our understanding of valuation should be based on the principal of supply-and-demand. How much the buyer needs it, and how much the seller needs to sell it – the same as a football player maybe?

The Ferrari Daytona Spyder – not the best car to come from Maranello. If you want one today expect to pay a lot for it because there aren’t many about! Is our land not in the same category? We have got it – they want it – let’s negotiate.

But no – they will not negotiate reasonably.

I don’t think this is fair. I bought this land when the government told us we had to look after our own future. This is my pension.

Thanks to the Manchester Evening News, this has now become a Red and blue issue.

As a season ticket holding United fan they’ve made it out that because we are red, we won’t sell, just to thwart city’s plans. This isn’t true but thanks for the idea!

If City can use their “friends”, why can’t we use our fellow Red friends to help us out?

We first got the idea from the situation with the Chelsea pitch owners, who managed to let Mr Abramovich know that his millions couldn’t get him what he wanted.

Almost 360 degrees around us has been sold to City already. Their work has begun and a fortune is being spent on the land while they are refusing to do the right thing and negotiate properly with us.

If you're happy with your club's strong-arm tactics then fair play to you too.

Certainly not when they feel they can just walk in and take what isn't theirs.

Only when Manchester United are involved, even in a tenuous way such as this, would certain people side with the multi-billionaires and not the small guy (city fans not siding with him at least makes some sense). banana split indeed.
