He was selling the plots for 250 pounds each through website, Unite Against the City, to "ardent Reds and anybody else that feels strongly about our David & Goliath situation"

Yep...a real David...

Buying something when it isn't for sale at said price. What a novel concept.

faek edit: it'll be great for the area when city get the land, but to do so they should sit down and negotiate with him.

You support City, you should know all about buying things above the market price ;)

Fair play to him for coming up with a clever way to fight the CPO. If what he is saying is true about the way City have attempted to handle the purchase then I don't see how you can really label him a banana split or whatever.

Nice to see, just as Leverkusen looked like they might not get steamrollered, Barca getting some crazy refereeing decisions in their favour again last night.

Only when Manchester United are involved, even in a tenuous way such as this, would certain people side with the multi-billionaires and not the small guy (city fans not siding with him at least makes some sense). banana split indeed.

yeah it's a shame people have to bring their personal bias into business matte-*refuses to sell land because of football rivalry*

Am I the only one slightly unnerved by Barthez in that photo?

Wut!

Obviously being tapped up for a bigger job, maybe they took umbrage. But surely that just talks themselves out of any compensation.

Leeds job I reckon, though the comments from Huddersfield Board make no sense:

"This was a very difficult decision; one not taken lightly or in response to one result," chairman Dean Hoyle told the club website.

"Lee and his coaching staff have put their all into the job over the past three seasons and has made a huge contrinution to the club.

"However with 16 matches to go we still have an oppotunity to achieve promotion and we have made this change with this in mind."

Aye your forth, four points from automatic promotion yet you sack him :fp:

This all sounds very odd. There has to be more to it than that. Clark must have had a big argument with the board or something.
