Sorry PES but I've been burned too many times to get my hopes up.

Really honestly I don't understand why Mourinho would get rid of Mata then sign Fabergas who is clearly the same type of player.

Isn't Mata younger than Cesc?

I doubt Man Utd are going to announce any signings until after the World Cup. The Dutch press would probably crucify Van Gaal if any story came out that indicated he wasn't focused on his current team.

I think Mata is 25ish. Cesc doesn't really seem like a Mourinho-type player.

Yeah, especially his 'treatment' of Hazard.

That ankle's not lasting the tournament, calling it.

Quite a possibility why Barcelona is willing to sell him? After all that trouble, you'll think they'll keep him longer.

Griezmann is being strongly linked to replace Morata at Real Madrid.

that makes no sense, griezman is a winger whilst morata is a striker

Griezmann did play as a striker occasionally.

It's more his record though; 23, 20+ goals last year, €30m release clause.

yeah he does get quite a few goals, I have a bad feeling if he went to madrid though he will probably be on the bench a lot as i can't see him taking ronaldo, benzema or bales spot and di maria is the other winger he would have to replace. Just look at Illarramendi who was great before and then went to madrid and was benched a lot. It's a bit like what chelsea does to some players.

Did Cesc really say that?

 No, I don't think so. What he actually said a few years ago was that he would never play for another English club. It was around the time Torres went to Chelsea as well.

Illara (24) will be a regular starter in years to come though.

Xabi is 32, and even though he's a better player than Asier now, he doesn't have that many years left in him. Illara probably would have been better off staying at Sociedad this year, but he's undoubtedly learned a lot from Xabi and has adjusted to playing for Real. Same goes for Isco as well, and Griezmann would most likely develop more with another year here, but when Real want a player (and, comparatively speaking, on the cheap) they pretty much always get them.

Similar to Bacary Sagna - Any player that has ever moved to another club.

A shame we couldn't keep him and I do find it strange he's gone to City, the one team in the league with a better RB than him, but I have nothing but respect for him. A quality player I'm sad to see go.

It is odd. Maybe they're going to play him CB sometimes too? I heard they're giving him 150k a week, which is high for a 31-year old. I can see why we didn't offer the same...but it is sad to see him go. So reliable over the years.

Shame to see him go....but he's only human.

If I was offered a bumper pay rise a few years before retirement, I'd be mad to not take it. By all accounts, you can never have too much money.
