This is easily Liverpool's most expensive transfer window, Fabinho, Keita and Shaqiri alone cost about £115m now add £67m to that, not only this but we forked out £75m for Van Dijk in January.

That's about the bones of about £260m, minus the Coutinho fee it's £120m net which is still a huge amount. They may get 30-40m back for Sturridge, Ings and Mignolet. More if Lallana and Wijnaldum are deemed surplus to requirements.

I never thought I'd see the day Liverpool would be among the 'big boys' spending this kinda outlay but here it is.

We also signed up a young striker in Brewster, an exciting prospect at U17's, he's injured till xmas though.

If there are no more matches, then I can't see it making that much of a difference compared to the usual friendlies. They've given it a different name, but I can't imagine the players caring about it and treating it like a competition.

There's no extra games, but each divisions winner does qualify for Euro 2020, so for the small nations these games will be massive.
